You need to go closer to a restaurant to get a good hit. That's the key, I found. One time, I got about 5 McDonald's deliveries back to back to back because I was near it and the deliveries were close by. I literally made $40/hr which is UNREAL for Eats. Usually, $18-23/hr is max for Eats (fast food) and around $20-30/hr for restaurants with Eats....like steakhouse or whatever. Dinner time (4pm-9pm) is best for AZ. Folks get off work and don't wanna cook. Kids hungry and parents are tired. Perfect time to be VERY hospitable to a parent. That's where the tips reside: hospitality and personality!

do you really make that much delivering fast food? like, do you only accept the orders if it's a short trip? also do they make you go through the drive-thru? I'm in New Orleans and I almost never accept orders from places like Popeyes because I never know if the dining room is open or not and there's often a huge line of cars (Popeyes especially seems to have this issue), so if it's drive-thru only, I end up wasting a TON of time.

@@annieoddo1475 I would take those orders because it's a lot faster (and less in fuel) to wait in line for 8mins) than driving 8mins away to pick someone up. You're literally using no fuel, and using the same amount of time - which is a net savings if you look at it from an expense standpoint. And when you're there, orders pop up on your screen and you accept them. You go there for $6 and end up leaving with $14 and two orders. Happens all the time once you're at the restaurant. They have the ability to stack while you wait. This pizza place (Gus') by ASU does it all the time to me. They key to EATS is to go near pizza places or McDonald's. Even Denny's has stacked for me a few times. Any restaurant that sells appetizers will kick you a few, as well. The worst is when someone from far out does an order and there's no restaurants where they live. You're literally dark for 20mins after that....driving back on your own fuel. Hate that part of Eats. Stay near apts, because many people in apts hate to lose their good parking spot and will order delivery.

@@MicDropBBQ that's all good advice! generally I do take into account where the customer is, and I'm glad the app actually shows you now. when they're all the way out in chalmette or new Orleans east I tend to decline, unless it's a crazy good offer, like an order from an upscale seafood restaurant or steakhouse. those almost always pay off.
@MicDropBBQ
@MicDropBBQ 2 жыл бұрын
@@annieoddo1475 TRUE! If it's a good offer that pays for your fuel and time - and the customer REALLY appreciates you coming out there by throwing an extra $20 on top of it all - you're gonna win. The losing part is when I first started doing Eats and didn't watch many videos about it, I used to get duped into doing those orders and getting $6-&7. I'd literally be driving 14miles and using nearly 30mins of my night for SIX BUCKS! I would be LIVID when a tip never showed up! It would happen all the time, because I was dumb enough to take that order. Those orders are for people going in that direction who may be looking for a few bucks on the way home. The only way we should be taking those are when it's a good amount of money, like you said. You get it. Took me a few times to figure it out but I eventually got it! LOL!

@@MicDropBBQ knowing the restaurants in your area really helps. When you know where they are, how hard it is to park, how long the wait times are, how much people generally order and pay, etc. you can balance those factors against the time and mileage. To date the biggest tip I’ve gotten was $75, plus like $20 that the customer handed me in cash. That one really blew my mind. It’s nice when people are generous and appreciative.

One thing to consider is lunch and dinner are busier but there is more traffic and wait times are usually longer.

I love your tips, thanks so much for sharing! I have have found Mondays in my market to be pretty great though overall... I think maybe it's because so many folks are tired and just don't feel like cooking after going back to work all day. And for some reason, my alcohol requests are always pretty high on a Monday evening also lol!

I usually find that Mondays are busier than Fridays but less busy than Sat/Sun. Tuesday and Thursday for some reason are always the least busy days.

I simply mapped out the restaurants in my neighborhood and drive on a designated "route" for pings. Certain days and hours are different in every market. Sometimes it pays to sit there with the apps on

Ubereats base pay sucks donkey balls. I think we can all agree on that. Maximizing your hourly with UberEats is all about maximizing tips. IME, dinner hours > lunch hours. Breakfast hours SAT & SUN are ok, but not spectacular. People when ordering food, still have a strong propensity to tip proportionally to the $$$ of what they ordered. This is the standard gig adage, "know your market." For food delivery, find places to stage in your market (especially for the dinner hours) that are central to 3-4 mid-high end ($20-$30+ per person) restaurants. While so staged, *PASS* on fast food joint orders. It's interesting you mention the late night "bar crowd." I don't do much late-night UberEats, but I do a lot of Fri & Sat night (9pm-4am) passenger Uber. I don't know from personal experience how busy it is on the UberEats side for the really late night (2am and later), but I can tell you from experience taking passengers home during those hours, an awful lot of them are placing UberEats orders while on the ride home.

You sound relatively intelligent in your tips thank you for your contribution as far as base pay is concerned everybody must remember that nobody's forcing them to take the job and if they don't like it they should just pass and move on to something else just like with any job

Is there ANY business on the graveyard shift? There may not be that many restaurants opened but in addition there’s probably very few Uber eats drivers on the road at that time which means that you would have all the routes to yourself pretty much
@istyleonu

Yes, go on the uber eats customer app and see what places are available to order from 24/7. Go wait in your car by those restaurants and you will get orders. I work in a medium sized town with only 3 fast food places open past 2am and I still get around 2-3 orders per hour. Wait for order as close to the restaurants as you can. Most of your competition will be uber drivers that are also doing uber eats. So if you are closer to the restaurant than they are then you will get offered the delivery first.

How close do you need to be to a restaurant? Some people have told me drive around busy area’s, but my phone has never went off while driving for some reason. In my area there is a strip about a mile long that has all the popular restaurant’s in town, but I don’t seem to get any pings unless I’m sitting within 100yards of said restaurant. Feel like I’m missing out my on a lot of pickups from places 1/4 mile plus away. Is there a way to expand what Uber sends to me?
@zachvizion
@zachvizion 2 жыл бұрын
Do you have Wi-Fi turned on when driving? Sometimes the phone can connect to public Wi-Fi which may delay orders coming in due to connection. Also knowing your area and testing different times and areas in your city.
@ccale03
@ccale03 2 жыл бұрын
@@zachvizion no I keep it off, I a have a Verizon MiFi that I keep in the car for my tablet to get data and figured out early on that I wouldn’t get any pickups if my phone was connected to it. It’s just taken me time over the last few months to learn that being in the populated busy area of my city just isn’t the place to be, everyone else has the same idea. I’ve found that I get 10x the pickups keeping to the areas of town no one else seems to want.
