Amazing video! I got to the last step with the screws but 4 are screwed so tight they won’t come out. Any tips for stuck screws? I was able to put it back together thanks to the rest of your video but really hoping I can get those out next try and finish the job.

Awesome Video ! One thing I’ll add is when disconnecting the WiFi Antenna I found it easy to use the pointy part of the plastic tool on the side there’s like a small hole and gently pry up

Great video. FYI a few things. 1) For those having an issue with unscrewing the Bracket on the WiFi connecting cables using a T3, use a T4 instead, which is what I had to do. 2) The WiFi cables do have to sort of click in softly when you press down. It's not just that the connector has to be in the right place, it has to fit in as well.

hi, i need help with my macbook air 13 a2179. I replaced the lcd thanks to your video, but the brightness is really too dark, even with the settings at max and with no other functions activate (true tone, battery saving, automatic brightness), there is a way how to fix it? I tryed to reset the nvram, at booting it shows a lot more brightness, but when entering the users, it restart to get dark like before. I will really apprecciate your help...

Hi, I'm not the author of this video, but I work for a company that repairs these all the time (I repair 12 a day) and I've seen your issue before. It is likely that you have a defective (or wrong) LCD. Odds are: the company that made your LCD, flashed the PCB incorrectly or used the wrong PCB for the ribbon cables. I dealt with it a lot last month when most of out 2159 LCD Panels were actually 1706/1708 Panels that were mislabeled by the vendor. I'd contact the seller and get a refund or replacement.

@@SupraViperhead are the 3rd party screens worth saving $50-60 vs the used oem screen assemblies i see for $240? Looks like the texture is coarser on the 3rd party lid which is one downside. Is there a noticeable difference in screen quality? high and low brightness? i wonder if true tone is also disabled when switching even to a used oem screen. Thanks for any input

@@daftnord4957 Depends on the vendor, the model, and the condition of the screen assembly. Some models have much cheaper OEM used parts available and it's less costly to use that part than it is to buy New 3rd Party. The M1's have the Camera paired with the logicboard, so you'll lose True Tone if you replace it, regardless if you use a 3rd Party or an OEM, but you may be able to convince Apple to pair the new display up to the board if the Screen Assembly is OEM. Earlier models (such as the A2179) didn't have the true tone paired to the board, so as long as the camera in the new display has true tone capabilities, the new unit will have true tone...again, unless it's an M1 (A2337. A2338, etc...). If you get a used screen, it may come with scratches, keyboard imprints, small nicks, and the shell may have scratches, nicks, and even bent corners. The newer screen assembly may have a more coarse texture (depending on the vendor, some are just fine), but the LCD will look better. I've never seen any issues with "low quality" when it comes to how it displays. There aren't any washed colors or low resolution issues, unless the LCD is outright defective. For me, though, I repair just the LCD Glass Panel, I don't replace the clamshell unless it's too damaged to repair.

Some do some don't. Typically the cheaper replacement displays do not have the apple logo. If you go on ebay, the replacement displays that sell for arround $150 - $170 do NOT have the apple logo. The ones with the apple logo sell for $180 and up.
