Humans are naturally biphasic - During the winter, we'd sleep really early for about 4-6 hours, wake up for 2-3 hours and sleep till morning for about 2-3 hours In the summer, we'd have an almost 8 hour sleep and a nap in the afternoon.

Im always in the zombie state, I can't sleep very well at night anymore. I'd go to bed, toss and turn, stare at walls, then finally sleep at 3am and wake up at 5am for school. I'd go to school looking and acting like a zombie. I literally have people coming up to me and asking if im okay

I see a shed! Sheds are great for naps. Outside of Ergon gas, it's almost camping. Best slept times, i've been camping. Get it cosy and nap in the shed ;)

waiiiit wait wait wait wait. This may have already been asked, or answered in another video (I'm on break at work), but you said you were going to do an uberman during the week and then stop for the weekends to do a monophasic sleep schedule. Can you/ were you able to readjust that quickly without having your first few days of the week sucking miserably?
@MichaelThomasDev9 жыл бұрын
Dorian Machia Hey, no I never actually got to try this. I did attempt the everyman schedule last year but failed after 13 days (everyman is a 3.5 hour core, plus 2-3 20 minute naps) Now I just take a 5 - 6 hour core plus a nap if I need it and I'm fine.
@dorianmachia31129 жыл бұрын
well, I heard that Everyman was a 3 hour core, and after 4 hours, a 20 minute nap, then after 4 hours, a 20 minute nap, then once more, 4 hours and a 20 minute nap It seems to me that by a combination of practice and genetics, every person has a... specific variation of polyphasic sleep patterns that can work for them, but when we're playing with variations of 10 minutes on the naps, and it takes 7 to 14 days to adapt a pattern, it may be difficult to really discern the important variables... The only reason I'm eager to try it out (after research) is because it follows a similar pattern I've been playing with for 6 or 7 years on my AD/HD medicine. It takes 21 minutes to kick in when I take it, and if I pass out, I sleep for 3 to 3 hours and 12 minutes, before the medicine kicks in, and I'm wide awake with the medicine's full effect. On a side note... having stayed awake for 3 to days at a time on amphetamines, I doubt that the transition to an uberman schedule will be very difficult while completely chemical-free. I'm very much looking forward to it

***** I wouldn't recommend a schedule like that. If you're aiming for 4 to 5 hours max then you should have a core sleep of 3 to 3.5 hours plus three 20 min naps

The spirit needs no sleep. The body is what requires the sleep. We are spirits having a physical experience, therefore embrace the whole experience, which includes sleep and being awake, and everything in between. My intuition tells me, you are driving the bus with your mind and determination, I suggest, letting that "source" drive the bus and see how that goes. There is this part of us which has all the answers, listed to that in the still moments, here and now.

@VideoArtist9 жыл бұрын
Hey, I abandoned it a long time ago. I keep meaning to make a video about my current approach to sleep and productivity - but basically I sleep when I need to, for as long as I need to, sometimes its 6 hours, sometimes its 8.

I know it might not suit everyone, but I let inspiration guide my life expression, inspiration = in spirit = attuned to source = harmony in life experiencing and expression :)
@hebince4410 жыл бұрын
Wow! You may actually have a point at the second half of the video about spiritual connection to Source being the primary goal of sleep. It's interesting because (and i have never thought of this before): "O you who wraps himself [in clothing], arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - half of it - or subtract from it a little or add to it, and recite the Quran with measured recitation."[Quran 73: 1-4] And "Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.They used to sleep but little of the night,and in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness." [Quran 51: 15-18]

you say the world is mono phasic ?? well you're 50% correct and 50% wrong. I think It's depend on which society you're at. If you're in a salaryman, organized, conductive place, less competitive then you are correct. But if you're in the Business leaders, More competitive type of place, where you need to work harder and staying up longer than everyone in order to move up, then this thing got be one of your solution.

My problem with this would be, I'd allocate a certain time of the day to sleep for twenty minutes but then there would be internal pressure to get to sleep quickly so that I'd end up just not sleeping for those twenty minutes. Eventually I'd just end up crashing for 12 hours. II'm alright on 6-7 hours a night so I'll stick with that.

I'm about 6-6.5 hour core and a 20 min nap right now. Yea I think we underestimate the power of just becoming an early riser.
