I would recommend that you use a different cable for the poe / ethernet feed as that blue cable is not all that suitable for outdoor use. I have a low power bullet into a 9dbi gain antenna and with that at just 2m above the ground I can get some 200+m with good signal strenght and speed. I will throw it up higher and see how far it will work, I can use it as a user instead of an AP and can get a signal some 1.5km away and connect with good speed to a mates access point.

You should make sure the antenna is mounted at least 15 cm away from any other metal source (slightly over one wavelength)

thanks, i will have to make its own mast, as doing that would make it dangerously close to the turbine blades!
