That plate for mounting on a ceiling tile is called a "doubler plate" and is used to reinforce the tile, so that the screws don't pull out. If you lose, or never had, that tool, you can use a cable tie.

Does the "Ubiquiti U6 Pro Access Point" require any additional hardware from Ubiquiti? Like their switches or routers?

No, they have an app (android/ios) you can use, and/or windows desktop controller app, a linux server controller app. all are freeware. This app is all you need to set it up from/with. You can create an offline admin user (which is what I always do) so you do NOT have to create a Ubiquiti/UniFi account for this. It updates firmware through the controller app.

YES, they require a POE injector if your switch isn't POE or cannot support the needed power (make sure you check, many cannot).

Thank you for your video. Just bought this very unit, was wondering what to do about re-using / re-naming a current wifi-5 AP and the end of your video helped explain what to do so I can re-use the old one without causing confusion. Thanks for all the info on installing the new AP.

I watched your view to see if your AP was a bit loose after mounting-like mine- and it looks like it is. I wish it was more flush with the ceiling but I guess that’s how it’s designed.

I'm looking to upgrade my old AC-LR and AC-Pro to the U6-Pro AP's. My Cisco switch has POE but the older AC-LR requires the specific Ubiquiti POE injector, which I have, of course. My newer AC-Pro will operate with the POE from my Cisco. I'm hoping my switch will power the U6-Pro like it does my AC-Pro and that I won't need to purchase an additional POE injector.

Is there enough room on the back of jack to plug in a field term plug or must one use a 8P8C or patch cable? Specs online do not show either termination.

UDM PRO SE only comes with 2 PoE+ ports (that are needed for the access points) if you need more Access points you will need to buy injectors.

Do you need a UniFi OS console like Cloud Key Gen2 Plus in order to use the AP? Could I just buy the AccessPoint and connect it to a switch without something like the Cloud Key Gen2 Plus?

No, you can use the UniFi App and manage it via a GUI from your phone or computing device (desktop/laptop). You are required to create a user/account first. Yes, you can plug it directly into a switch/router assuming its POE and the correct wattage, if not, you'll need a POE injector (buy the injector to be safe).

Can buy online the access points, would they be compatible with other router, which comes standard by the internet provider (price for the hardware is included in the monthly fees).

Can we do a speed test from various distances. I just bought the U6 enterprise version today. I should get it in a couple of days. I’m very excited and hoping I could use 1 access point as opposed to 3 to cover my home.

What is the injector device and what is POE series and how so they connect?

The POE injector uses one pair in the Ethernet cable to provide power to the AP. They will not work without one unless you have a POE switch/router that can support the needed power. Most "home" switches cannot handle it so it's best to just but a POE and be safe.

Really depends on the site. My walls hate WiFi, so my setup is around 30-50' apart, but in a more open setting or drywall, definitely would be able to get by with a much larger distance.

10 Minutes of time wasted showing people how to replace the device. I would rather have seen the software configuration for first time installation. Guess I will keep searching

Don’t buy this … has only 1gbit upload. Go for the Enterpise edition

As long as you have an Enterprise switch to handle the 2.5Gbps, then I would concur.
