Great video, where did you get the color patch rj45 patch port? I'm looking to do the same thing. Keep up the great work.

Did you ever sort out the NanoHD only connecting at 100M as opposed to 1gig?

what is the case for needing an injector switch, length? Can I not simply plug the cable from the rack directly to the AP?
@ArturB9933 жыл бұрын
also, can this AP be used with other existing setups besides Dream Machine? Would you still need to use the app to get it to register on a non Ubiquiti ?

to both of your questions. The PoE Injector is to provide power if you are going to use the AP on a non-PoE switch. So, lets say you are using a basic layer-2 workgroup switch from the local office supply store, those will not provide the power needed for the AP to power on. What the injector does, is provide that power. You would then patch from a non-powered port to the injector, then from the injector to the AP (or phone, or camera, or whatever device, it's not just for AP's) The 2nd part of your question, you can most definitely use the UniFi access points without a USG or UDM, but you will need to install the UniFi network controller software on a PC or VM on your network. At home I use a virtual machine running Linux to control my UniFi AP's and a friend set up a Raspberry Pi to be used as a UniFi controller for his setup. www.ui.com/download/unifi/
