My only issue with this was, that during previews and press marketing they kept touting Historical Accuracy, and later Ubisoft fans started gaslighting everyone that Assassins Creed is never historical accurate. But then the thing is, yes. The game was never historical accurate, but now they did Yasuke who was real (irrelevant if Samurai or not) but their past protagonists were not historically accurate. So yeah they totally have agenda. Also, they cant remove him, not in whatever months they delayed the game for, just trying to fix the bugs etc.

They have had 3 black protagonists so far. Adawale from. Black flag, he got his own DLC called "Freedom cry" Aveline, and Bayek of Siwa. And those were all great characters. It's my major, and the second I heard they put Yasuke in the game as a samurai I was immediately out.

If Yasuke doesn't have a lore about being black in Japan or how a black man entered the country, the best they can do is replace Yasuke with another Japanese character with a Japanese actor. As for Naoe, I wont mind player as her but if it shows that she's stronger and much more intelligent than the male character, like they did in Syndicate, then I'm never playing it. For those who know, its not the first time Ubisoft worked with Sweet Baby Inc. They hired them for Syndicate as well. The story of Syndicate was made only for Jacob. But that b**** Grim Belair complained that there wasn't enough diversity. As a result, they had to scrap the entire story and rewrite it into a new one with a female character. That's the very reason they didn't just add Evie along with Jacob, they made her stronger and more powerful as well.

They're not gonna remove Yasuke at this point. Replacing his presence in the game would cost them way more than they're gonna make and 3 months time isn't enough to do it anyway. Unless they plan to delay it till later this year, expect Yasuke to be in the game. I would argue that they've maybe had a bit of a wake-up FINALLY and are gonns do as much damage control as they can. Removing as much of the DEI stuff as possible and polishing the game so it won't be released as the buggy mess the last handful of Ubi games have been.

It's not because they care about creating a historically accurate story. Companies like "Sweet Baby Inc." are putting pressure on game devs to push this woke bs. Go and read about how they went after the devs of Black Myth Wukong. The devs didn't give in to their threats and look at how successful their game was at launch. I can see why Ubisoft is going back and changing the main protagonist to a Japanese man. Because it's what people want. Why? Because it makes more sense. Ubisoft has a lot riding on this game. And they can't afford to possibly lose the company over some woke company like Sweet Baby Inc. trying to bully them. They've got to make a game that sells. And the fact is, the majority of gamers don't want this kind of woke b.s. in their games.

The "rainbow flag gay trans BBC samurai" is a major issue here, but not the whole problem. They also used chinese writing and architecture in buildings and signs and placed incense burning in shinto shrines, which all of them are an insult to Japan and the main reason the Japanese people are mad about this. Unless they take this delay time to not only remove all woke pandering propaganda and correct the mistakes of chinese things in a Japanese setting and the incense stuff, which is a thing of Buddhism and not Shintoism, this game is still trash

I'm black and this is my opinion but putting yasuke as a main protagonist would be like putting Leonardo da Vinci as Ezio. it wouldn't work. Historical figures being playable don't work. They're meant to be interacted with like Connor and Ben Franklin or edward and woods rogers. Adewale worked in freedom cry because his story isn't limited by primary sources or historical sources. and it so happens freedom cry is one of my favorite DLCs in AC. I hate that ubisoft just uses blk ppl as a scape goat to push out their product and call gamers racist for pointing out historical inaccuracies. Historical fiction must be rooted in accuracy in order to make the world believable damn all the fiction. Outlander is a show but historical sci-fi/fiction and it works. Do it with yasuke and not tarnish him.

I don't love the idea of removing Yasuke. Im not a fan of the the idea of artists being bullied into changing their art by the vox populi. HOWEVER, truthfully i think they would be well served adding in a 3rd male Japanese lead (like they did in GTA 5). Frankly that's what they should have done to begin with. They need to pull back from releasing this game and make some story changes and cultural changes. Japanese players deserved the opportunity to play AC Japan with a character that looks like them. Hell, the vast majority of us have been looking forward to playing as a Japanese male ninja AC Assassin in feudal Japan for like 10 years or more.
