What makes me REALLY like this game is the fact I can shove more than 4 people in a lobby. I’m starting to realize just how much I miss the days of shoehorned PvP modes into single player games that didn’t need them. Were they amazing? No. But stuff like the multiplayer modes in Transformers FoC and Doom 2016 are so much more memorable and fun to me than some F2P live service shlock that I’ll play once and never again. Those games were full priced box products that didn’t demand constant engagement and mtx because they ALREADY got your money, so the PvP modes were just fun extras on top of the single player experience. I really miss that era of games.

Sometimes, they can really feel tacked on and at worst hamper the main campaign development (only rumors, but some think that's why Uncharted 3 was the way it is). But you can luck out and finde some true gems. The Transformers WFC/FOC multiplayer was a great compliment to the campaign and let you play as tons of characters from the setting. Bioshock 2's multiplayer was fun and so was Uncharted's.

I really like the Ghost Recon Phantoms inclusion because their perks and bonus health reflect exactly what that old free-to-play game used to be and kinda what this one is: a load of broken BS constantly, for every player in the game. Every time I get frustrated with an ability killing me, it just reminds me of the “good old days” of broken game design especially in the f2p space. Very nostalgic, and also very fun when you get better at abusing your overpowered garbage than your enemies.

When it comes to video/editing style I prefer seeing you physically over gameplay as opposed to just hearing your voices. Idk to me its reminiscent of the old MW2 MW3 2000s days of if someone is sweating on you, you have the actual drive to be like, OH IM GOING FOR YOU SPECIFICALLY, especially because you can see name plates easily. The lack of SBMM also allows for some pretty good to some pretty abysmal games in terms of winning or losing, but the game play is so fun that if your team just cant get their shit together to play objective, thats okay, because the gunplay is so much fun, turning it into a Team Deathmatch is perfectly acceptable.

a small gripe I have with games nowadays is how long the after match is, with unskip-able cut scenes, play of the game and mvp awards, it just doesn't add much value for the minute or so they take when you could just be playing another match already. i get its there for the winners of BR style games because the only people that see that are 1st, 2nd, and spectators where it really feels rewarding. In shooters like this, they're just there for the little dopamine drip to make you feel better if you didn't do great. (i literally got an award for 1.11 kd in a match)

You know I think Bricky would really like the game "Duskers". It's rated very positive on steam and I think it's right up your alley. It's a roguelike survival/horror indie game. Synopsis: In Duskers you pilot drones into derelict spaceships to find the means to survive and piece together how the universe became a giant graveyard. You are a drone operator, surrounded by old gritty tech that acts as your only eyes and ears to the outside world. What you hear comes through a remote microphone. What you see is how each drone sees the world. Motion sensors tell you something's out there, but not what. And when you issue commands, you do it through a command line interface. You have to earn everything in Duskers, scavenging drone upgrades, drones, and even ship upgrades. But dangerous creatures lurk in these derelict ships, and weapons are rare, so you may need to think of a clever way to explore a military outpost using only a motion sensor and a lure. But even if you find a way, the sensor that you rely on may break down, or you may run out of lures, even your drone's camera feed can start to fail. Hey Bricky! I have been a fan of yours for some time (I think I started watching your stuff sometime after you started Adeptus Ridiculous with DK and Shy). I have to say that you should do whatever you think is best for your channel and satisfies you more. However, I must say that I liked your older video format better (aka, you being most of the time on screen making eye contact with us). I don't know if its the fact that it felt much more personal when your videos showed content in the background and you were talking to us making direct eye contact with us, but I liked it better. Maybe it is the fact that this format feels a bit more than a "generic" (since A LOT of people do videos were they talk over gameplay over the background). As i say, you should do whatever fulfils you more, but I wanted to tell you that I prefer feeling like a friend of mine is talking to me about his new thing for 20-30 mins straight. Glad to hear ya thoughts, Bricky! As someone who grinds XDefiant to no end and being one of those people that rages at those god DAMN, Bunny-hopping, SOBs... it is a lot of fun. The UI and UX can be an issue starting out but you get used to it. And they'll likely change it in future Seasons (we're currently in Preseason and they're prioritising on the bugs and gameplay tweaks over UI/UX) Also, so glad that the challenges matter and give you damn good rewards. Using that M4 was a pain... but once I got the AK, so long heads. It's not great but it's not bad. It is okay but it is fun to play. If ya just wanna play a few games and have fun not worrying about the grind, it'll absolutely scratch that itch. The grind is, a little bit of a slog but not too horrible. Just... those damn BHoppers are annoying. They're going to be working on that, from what I hear though so... let's hope.

I will say XD is really scratching that COD itch. I bought the battle pass as a way to say "Look Ubisoft lets shake on this...dont fuck up." They likely will but heres hoping. My friends and i are having a blast. Edit: Also side note Mark Rubin of Infinity Ward is running the show on this so im hopeful. I find it kind of funny people shrink away because its Ubisoft while acting like Activision is any better. Look I understand late stage capitalism Ubisoft is insane but my man...allow yourself to enjoy something. Especially a game that doesn't demand 70 dollars and also demands battlepass and cosmetic money. Not to mention if you want to keep up with the COD meta the battle pass is a required purchase.

While I had fun with the time I've put in, the constant "CoD Killer" comments became insufferable. One of my earliest thoughts was that this felt like it's competing more with other games that label themselves CoD killers instead of CoD itself. Bricky even says the closest comparison is to Black Ops 4 which is real on brand for Ubisoft to be that late to the scene. In the first XD livestream, Brick said early on that he misses that simple kill/die/respawn gameplay that he was somehow not getting from CoD which was confusing to hear as I was queued up with my group in MW3 to do exactly that.

So we meet again brickster! I hope my comment finds you in good spirits, I certainly feel quite well. Anyhow onto this times build, which I like to call “Fuck That Pincushion”. In order to do this you will need to play as “The furry bait”… also known as the rabbit. You see her whole gimmick is that after shooting a certain amount of bullets, you will build up a “sword stack”. Each sword stack will make it so when you use your primary ability all your stacks will shoot out at any unfortunate fellow who was caught in your sight. That though is not what we’re focusing on today, instead we are focusing on her secondary ability and its talent called “Blade Of Bloom”. What this does is that each time you hit someone with her secondary skill, it will unleash a flurry of swords on that specific enemy hit which stacks with the amount of sword stacks your primary ability has, basically turning that enemy into a, well, pincushion. That’s all for today, a short one I know but life isn’t about trailing behind but instead focusing on the good things ahead… Like you playing Gunfire Reborn someday 😁 See you around Mr Big Brick Man!

The only thing the Finals does better than XD-rawr, is the destructible environments, which as a system, is literally pointless for the existing game modes. It's got 3 classes, your "load out" consists of 1 weapon and a tac slot, and it's so widely unbalanced, that even today, flamethrower still bears out 90% of all other weapons for 90% of content, which we were complaining about back in beta 1. And AI as meta-commentary would be cool, except they've already admitting they don't want to spend that money on voice actors, and there is literally no evidence in game of a commentary.
