A more extreme example is the V2, first flown in 1942 it was the first true ballistic missile using a gyroscope and fuel capacity as guidance with a conventional warhead and by 1957, mere 15 years after, the Soviets had developed the first intercontinental ballistic missile radio controlled and with a nuclear warhead. Wolfpack, it kinda drives me nuts watching you carefully measure and input all that data into the TDC for stationary vessels. The purpose of the TDC is to calculate the torpedo offset to hit a moving target. If the target speed is zero, it means there will be zero deflection on the torpedo angle, so every other setting (range and AOB) has no effect when speed is zero. To put it very simply, if you set target speed to zero, the torpedo will *always* run straight. For a stationary vessel, just set speed to 0, point and shoot. Nothing else is required. Thanks for all the videos!

IKR, I was like: "THEY'RE NOT MOVING. LAUNCH ONE TORPEDO AT EVERYTHING AND GTFO."

No. TDC mod adds realistic "gyro angle". This means torpedo only starts to turn to set gyro angle after running 9,5m from the tube, and this results in a parallax angle (the angle diffrence between periscope and topedo gyro angle turning point). For stationary targets, this also means the gyro angle you set is related to distance - a shorter set distance will get a larger parallax angle, a larger gyro angle, and thus may miss the target (~4km away) completely.

The last time I ended up trying to shoot my way out with the deck gun, got one and almost two ships before they nailed me. Well, historically, Hitler ordered that the English Channel was off-limits to U-boats and required them to transit around the north of the British isles because the Channel was far too dangerous. Also Prien had raided Scapa Flow in 1939, so I am pretty sure that British defences at Portsmouth, the Royal Navy's most important port, would have been fearsomely strong.
