Is there option to buy framework laptop without motherboard? so that anyone could choose other companies motherboards.
@Ivan-qo7eg6 күн бұрын
You can buy all the other parts, but the third party motherboards have to be designed to be compatible with the framework ecosystem, and this video shows the first motherboard of this kind. So short answer no, but theoretically yes.

Their marketplace allows you to buy all the parts individually, so in theory you could purchase all the parts except the mainboard. With that said though you'll spend more doing that than just buying one with a board from Intel or AMD already installed.

I've always wondered why they made Type-C to Type-C expensive and complicated instead of creating a good connection... Modern people have probably forgotten what RJ45 is and that several PCs can form a local network for free... And if we talk about repairability and convenience... Where are the hot-swap switches? It makes more sense to use a screen... But making a keyboard out of it is difficult... You need to write code for it... But even so, external split keyboards with a graphic tablet in the middle look more interesting anyway. _))
