Thank you NBC Bay area news for reporting this. Great stories will remind people to act in kindness ,not criminal acts. I am tired of all the negative news through media reporting.

I would like to see one of these do-gooders now solve the crime problem around the uc berkeley campus

The solution was ultimately getting him into school and taking out loans to pay for all of that. Which means when he graduates, he’ll need to find a job to pay off said loans which could be quite substantial. Definitely doable but this feels like a solution that wouldn’t work for many homeless, especially those that are beyond their meaningful working years. It’s a debt trap that they might not yet recognize. They’re going from being homeless with potentially no financial obligations to having a rather significant financial obligation once they’re done with school

Really nice but they could have let the African American man talk more

Feel good story that doesn’t reflect the reality of drug addiction among the homeless.

Had the same experience when I was young. That's why I am a YIMBY and advocating for diverse dense housing in the East Bay (e.g. SB 423 extension & more SB4 etc)

I’m hoping Anthony gets into government and works to change the system that creates homelessness. Pass a gas station today where the minimum price was $5.99. We subsidize oil companies with our taxes, they profited $200 Billion last year, and parents who have to drive their kids to school before driving to work, are suffering.

Many people haven’t seen the update to this story: Today the law student met with the homeless man and was beaten to death because he wouldn’t drive him to Popeyes to pick up a three piece.

Yes, now get a job, pay rent, pay for health insurance, pay taxes, stop collecting from the government, and start helping others. 😉
