UC San Diego protests lead to 64 arrests, students clash with police

Protesters and police continued to clash long after law enforcement dismantled the UC San Diego "Gaza Solidarity" encampment, which began last week on the campus' Library Walk, and made arrests Monday.
Early Monday morning, a large police presence was seen surrounding the encampment. Student protesters were seen being taken away by police in custody in handcuffs or zip ties and processed.
UC San Diego Police reported that 64 arrests were made during the dismantling of the illegal encampment on campus. Of those arrested, 40 were current students and 24 were unaffiliated with the University or their status is unknown.
The students that were arrested have been placed under immediate interim suspension according to the UC San Diego Communications Dept.

You are actually allowed to peacefully assemble to promote terrorism (mostly, there are a lot of pitfalls that can tip you into threat, incitement, etc., so one should consult a lawyer with the exact wording they would use, but as a general principle, even speech advocating for violence is protected under the first amendment). What you aren't allowed to do is go camping on someone else's property without permission. And you especially aren't allowed to stay around after representatives of the property come by to tell you to knock it off. And you especially, especially aren't allowed to stick around after the police trespass warn you and tell you to disperse. And you especially, especially, especially can't get in the police officer's way and resist getting pushed away from the area. My guess is that the vast majority of those arrested fell in that last category, with an unlucky few who fell in the second to last category. I would be shocked if anyone was arrested who hadn't been given numerous warnings and opportunities to leave without punishment (not even suspension from the school). But, instead, they apparently wanted wanted to get arrested in order to prove a point, and got their wish.

This is the main reason why a gathering event (a graduation) is a major concern for law enforcement. I believe that a full investigation should be made into who is actually financing all of these campus demonstrations. Unfortunately the Dem government will do absolutely nothing because many of the people financing it are their donors.
