I believe pieces of engine took out the tires

Several ppl said that but I am not 100% convinced that is what happened. I was on the passenger side of the dyno and didn’t see any near the rear tires. I’ve seen some high speed shot photos of the tires right before they exploded and they were wrinkled in the rear of the tire not the front like it would be under acceleration. I believe that when the engine let go it locked up and the drivetrain/wheels stopped turning. When this happened the rollers on the dyno are still turning at easily 150+mph and in the opposite direction, reverse. That sudden change of direction on the tire wrinkled them backwards and blew them out.

1/4 mile racing is about dead. Michael Cordova did go 3.83 @203 in the 1/8 though!
