Amazing game overcame poor shooting early, foul trouble for two of our best players (Hall and Thiam), and experienced leader Jay Sellers battling injury, along with talented guard Mikey Williams. Still, the team overcame. Seeing the skill level of the younger players e.g. JJ Taylor and Dior Johnson, the team has depth and there isn’t any real drop off from 1-10. I’m sure we will see a steady dose of DJ and Juice all year as we did tonight (along with Key), but the balance of experience and younger high ceiling talented players is exciting for this program. A huge burden will fall on Thiam and Benny Williams to hold it down in the paint and snag rebounds. Both are sufficiently athletic that we may be able to outpace teams early if/when our shooting is a little more consistent throughout.

The thing is best athletes have not played yet. They have not jelled yet its why D Johnson excels at PG. He is a team player. When others become like him. This team will be unstoppable

UCF you need to fire your video editor. These highlights had way more shots and points scored from Texas A&M than from UCF.

Get ready to rank UCF
@EconAdviserКүн бұрын
Though only 4 guys scored almost all the points, it was the great team defense that overcame the huge rebound advantage of the Aggies. UCF showed its upgraded talent, matchings ranked-A&Ms. The over 8800 screaming Knight home crowd witness a frantic, often artful but scrappy game with plenty of back and forth excitement. But every time the Aggies looked to pull away, Darius Johnson would orchestrate a comeback. With it's frontline starters in deep foul trouble and lacking its shooting touch, the Knights drove the middle repeatedly at the tiring A&M players to get to the foul line. Down 11 with only 4 minutes left, Johnson and Curry piled up the free throws, steals, and blocks. Freshman swing man was forced to J J Taylor play center blocking shots and flying in for a go-ahead putback in the final couple minutes after Hall and Thiam fouled out. Still the visitors were held to 2 points the last 4:52 of the game, even missing a trio of 3 attempts on the final possession as time expired.

worry that this team is a bit too small I wanted the team to start dior or mikey but it may be smarter to have jj in the starting lineup and pull ivy-curry from the starters once jayin comes back

@@kiya1545Lol. Not even how college hoops works. Coaches don’t use games to see how “good” someone is, they set rotations based on performance in practices and workouts. And once you got your rotation set you allocate PT based on that and see how it goes.
