This is a great video. He explains it so well. This ocd is so hard to live with, mine stems from a traumatic experience and I have so many intrusive thoughts and fears. God I hope everyone heals from this suffering.

@Ghost it comes and goes bro. It all starts with thoughts that cause anxiety. You have to remember any thought that causes anxiety, fear, or guilt is not a desire. It's an intrusive thought, it stems from fear. You are not what you fear, remember that. The thoughts will keep coming because your reaction to them, try not to let them get to you. Trust me its not easy, it's an everyday battle. Your not alone, God Bless
@gabrielsimbachosenboxing67345 жыл бұрын
@Ghost its because gore and torture is something you fear. It's not the thoughts that are the issue it's the anxiety that accompanies the thoughts. The thoughts dont say anything bad about you as a person, some people fear death, some people fear being gay, some people fear hurting someone. OCD can literally take the form of anything, the way you beat it is to try not react to the thoughts and I know it's hard. But think of it like this, if you truly liked the thoughts would you be this anxious and distressed? Of course not, the reason you have the thoughts is because they disturb you and you find them morally wrong.

@Ghost Fear is what OCD fears off bro, an what goes against your core values. That's why it brings family members in it, it attacks what you love and care about most
@Madi-yf7qu4 жыл бұрын
That's how mine is. It's hard to deal with. I even have anxiety about getting treatment for it.. my fears are body image / what people think/ family issues/ being a bad mother/ and it causes me to have times where I panic and freak out. I stopped on my own for a while but tramautic things keep happening emotionally and it made me start again out of fear of things changing or me being hurt. it sounds so selfish but it's so terrifying on the inside. It feels like "life" is constantly fucking with me but I'm also an extremely happy person that also is terrified 95% of the time . Wtfff

I'm tired of people saying It's my OCD like a badge of honour. When you have true OCD and I'm not talking about being neat and tidy, and liking the same colors and things straight. I'm talking about throwing away brand new items because you think someone may have touched it. I'm talking about leaving work because you need to take a shower because you think someone may have touched you. I'm talking about not being able to touch your own children because you just can't. I'm talking about never telling anyone what you think because you know your crazy so what will they think. Imagine telling an employer I have to go home and take a shower because I think someone may have touched me, not know they touched you only think they touched you. How understanding will your employer be ???? NO people that say they have OCD DO not have OCD otherwise you wouldn't be bragging about it. How many people say it's just my schizophrenia ? no one because if you have schizophrenia the last thing you want is anyone knowing it. So why are people so happy to tell you "its just my OCD" I have suffered now for 42 years and it just gets worse with every breath I take. I do work and it's getting harder every day to hide it People at work no something isn't right but there not quite sure what. I listen to a woman at work bragging about her OCD and how she likes everything in capitals on a report she has to do. NO this woman does not have OCD.
@souravpal64065 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with you. I think one reason people tend do this (not necessarily exclusively with OCD but with other mental illnesses as well), is because of the way movies and pop-culture tend to glamorize mental disorders to the point that people associate it with being extraordinary.
@handoromper79875 жыл бұрын
@@souravpal6406 And as I said schizophrenia is not cool so no one will say its just my schizophrenia. OCD is horrible and un-curable for those that truly have it and would never tell anyone. An Employer would never have anyone with true OCD. As I have said I go home for a shower in work time, and you really think an Employer is ok with that ?

Guys don't give up please, it all starting like 2 months ago with an random thoughts and it was hell, the anxiety was hell i had thoughts about becoming an serial killer or schizoprenic or even being possesed or having epilepsy. I didn't knew what was wrong with me i was for sure thinking that i was going insane. Until i did my research and i realized that i had pure O. After that i've realized that i don't need to worry about the thoughts anymore and to look at them like something that is not a part of me but an random thing the brain trows at me. Now my anxiety have calmed down drastically but i still have the compulsions like doubting my thoughts, ruminating, trying to explain eveything or even characterized myself with other people that are serial killers or having those illines (this is gone now btw), i realized that i'm rational and i don't need to fear my thoughts anymore. Now the thing i need to do is to remove the compulsions and the best thing i do to make them go away are distractions, i started to learn photoshop and learning another language. If your fighting this i know what you are going through i know all the sweating the thoughts racing in your mind the doubt of your sanity but it can be done, you can get rid of this devil you just need to realized that your thoughts are not part of you, look at them like clouds up in the sky not part of you, because in your soul you know that you are fine and you are rational and would never do anything wrong or hurt or abuse anyone. And for the compulsions try and find an hobby, get out with friends, play some video games who cares if it hurts if that thing makes you happy do it because you know it will make you feel better. Btw sorry for any triggers in this comment. Live your life and be gratefull for the things you got because remember it could've been much worst.

Dis Boi thank you so much for your words, you describe so well this part of Ocd - named Pure O. I am also strugling with these thoughts and I find very hard sometime but gest like you said the best thing to do is to distrat yourself by doing activities you like most and avoid trigger ones. But sometime thoughts pop up and they are stronger when I am stressed or tired and they find a door to enter in my mind. I do have weird thoughts, harmfull about me or orhers and the anxiety...man and then swetting... Is hard. I would like to talk to you more beacause îs hard to find someone who has same problem, beacause I do have only mental compulsions, like you have.

Mine is if I don’t tap something a certain amount of Time or do something multiple times or go back to something and make sure it’s right my brain has a thought that over the years has became a giant thought of everything bad that could happen and it also annoys very much, kinda hard to explain. and yes when this guy said people with ocd have other things like anxiety or depression is true. Mine started in second grade and just got worse from there my parents always thought I would outgrow it but I never did. It basically effects everything you do in life.

has anybody have ocd affecting his health such as stomach pain , uncontrolled nervous sysytem movement , muscle tension and hear/beard loss?
@artofmghow64195 жыл бұрын
Yes. I rarely hear psychologists talk about that. But I am asking my self the same questions. I have contamination OCD, and because of really strong anxiety when someone is sick around me, I become sick because of the anxiety not because of the viruses. I am 90% sure that that is true, but haven't found a scientific proof for that. I think my mind is making uo physical symptoms. Because the person can be many feet away, and I could get symptoms. Like you described. Muscle tension, absolutely. Sometimes my solar plexus was hurting so much, just because of constant pressure from intrusive thoughts. My psychologist agreed with that. He even gave me some practices to help the muscle tension.

It was so great to listen to this, but so distressing as well. I've dealt with Scrupilosity since I was 5. It kinda rotates around with all the awesome intrusive thoughts (sarcasm). This condition has tortured me my whole life. The worst part is the existential stuff. Mix a little of damnation teaching with OCD3 and it's a great way to get admitted to the hospital. Thanks again for the great information. I wish somehow that my family could see just a little of the stuff rolling around in my head. I'm actually now disabled due to a downturn and depression that started 10 years ago. I feel like so much of my life is just in the crapper due to these issues. It's nice to know I'm at least not alone, but it also makes this road look so damn long and I'm so tired.
