African Empires: the history we aren't being taught - Prof. Kevin MacDonald, UCL African Studies

Kevin C. MacDonald is Professor of African Archaeology at the UCL African Studies Research Centre (www.ucl.ac.uk/african-studies) where he has taught since completing his PhD at Cambridge in 1994. He has worked in Mali for more than twenty years on field projects ranging from the Late Stone Age to the historic era, principally in the Gourma, Méma, Haute Vallée and Segou regions. His analytical specialities include archaeozoology, ceramics lithics and the excavation of earthen structures. He is currently co-editor of the Routledge journal Azania: Archaeological Research in Africa.
