Of course wishing the best for My Morocco , I believe this generation has to win this AFCON , we had some great generations but always came short , but AFCON is different than any other international tournament , literally you can never assume the winner by the current form, there are 5 favorites being Morocco , Senegal , Nigeria , Ivory cost and Egypt as always but everything can happen Algeria and Mali are great on paper and could go far in the competition also .

Algeria has no tactical discipline and is really bad defensively. Same could be said about Nigeria Ivory Coast The only two teams that have a chance are Egypt and Morocco as they are meticulously disciplined tactically, have an iron defense and each a goalkeeper who can play hero on penalties.

Nigel doesn’t know African football if he says Nigerians have more skill and flair than Ghanaian players. Nigeria had Okocha and Kanu but they are the exception to the rule, Nigeria tended to rely more on power and speed to beat teams. A subtle way you can tell the difference between Nigerian and Ghanaian players is to look at defensive players. Nigerian defensive players tend to be only defensive like fullbacks Taribo West or Sunday Olise. While Ghanaian defensive players have a higher skill and technically level so can also play as attacking players like Munatri, Essien and Thomas Partey. And Ghana fullbacks are way more attacking than Nigerian fullbacks because they are more. The problem for Ghana is they don’t have a deep pool of players because it is a smallish country and so many top players who are eligible for Ghana play for other national teams. At the last world cup Ghana was the African team with most players playing for other nation teams at 11. There are Ghanaian heritage players who play for England, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Wales, USA, Canada, Sweden and even Qatar.
