A cool moment at 1:12:58,9 - Ashlyn Shade's look of respect at Paige Bueckers, nice to see ..... gotta love Buecker's toughness in this game

Sellers' foul on Bueckers at 38:24 was real dangerous; she acted like she didn't do anything, but her lower body was how she fouled; don't know if it's dirty, but definitely dangerous; Bueckers was defenseless in the air, glad she didn't get injured

Thanks MJL243! This was a promising game against a RANKED opponent! I hope the NC loss will drive them to win most of their games. If this team is healthy for the tournament, I can see them going to the final four if they take care of business. The freshman talent is the real deal. Good basketball IQ on all of them and Geno may get them back to traditional UCONN ball!! Go Huskies!

Rebounding is still the big issue for UCONN. Especially in the eraly game you saw how crucial it is and how Maryland got into the game and even took the lead because of better control of the board. Aaliyah needs help in the paint and Caroline isnt cutting it. Aubrey step up big on the defense in this game after a slow start, but the bigs is again this years "problem" area. On the other hand i really love the freshmen this year and how fearlessly they just adapt to the game and defend and score right away. In reguards to guards UCONN is packed with talent. They need big desperately.

UCONN was firing on all cylinders this game; even without Azzi. Maryland had a chip on their shoulders coming off that loss to S.C. It wasn't always pretty, but they got the job done against a relatively good team. I'm glad Paige was a little more selfish as she needs to be to set the tempo for herself and the other players who were emulating her in some respects. Somehow Geno turned them around.

That shook some cobwebs off! I'm pretty much harsh in my analyzing of the games, and hard on the players, when not performing. That said, Page was a lion, Edwards fought for every ball, Nika did well, Aubrey was fearless, Q was moving with purpose, KK belongs there, and...Shade, another young gutsy prospect that is not afraid. Well done ladies! MJ, you something special, to us!

It was a very fast and physical game borderline dirty. Paige took a lot of cheap shots there game plan was to knock her out Early but thankfully it didn't work. Very clutch proformances from the freshman. Poor Carolina Ducharme looked out of sink. She needs to play angry and not questioning her ability! Great Win!
@markhathaway9456

Geno said in a post-game interview that during warmups she hit 10 in a row. Apparently it's the in-game experience which is distracting her. He wants them to play automatically, from habit. That's hard to do if there's any fear or confusion lingering.

That's a brand of defense we couldn't have last year. Having more young, energetic players makes a huge difference. Aaliyah wasn't the focal point on offense because Maryland double or triple-teamed her. But, when Ice was in with her, it went pretty well. The rotations looked better and Paige got lots of time. As for the physicality, the war, Maryland introduced it and UConn showed them how to do that too. UConn stands together. Punch one, they all punch back. Qadence looked really good for a short time. KK, Ashelynn, and Ice all looked better in this up-tempo brawl. I hardly noticed Nika at first. This seems to be her kind of game, but with everybody involved, she didn't stand out so much. She and KK both have a good PG ability to spark things. Carol needs to work on her confidence that she can shoot without worrying about getting hit (and hurt). A sports psychologist might help. Aubrey was great early, but she is not a dribble-drive scorer. In the craziness of a game like this each player has to stay true to themselves. Great blocks, steals, and defense by everybody. How many FTs did UConn get, maybe 8? Given the fight it seemed low. Sellers is very good, but also a faker & flopper.

If anybody saw my messages after the NC State game....my biggest "complaint" was why didn't Ashlynn get any minutes? That kid is SOLID, and would have been a factor in that game. I think Geno must have heard me yelling at the TV....lol. He said after yesterday's game that she reminds him of Shea Ralph...that's high praise right there!! I think we will see lots more of her.

Remember back a few years ago, UCONN lost early in the season to Arkansas because they played awful defense, with too many fouls. They learned their lesson and end up in the final game of the NCAA tournament where they lost cause SC got over 20 more foul shots than UCONN! They need to play tough no foul Defense! This year the bench Freshman seem ready for the bigtime!

Caroline Ducharme should not be warming the bench; she should be in attack mode. Caroline is a talent that is being wasted at UConn. She is being planted in the corners instead of doing what brought her to UConn in the first place.
@lastonestanding3417
@lastonestanding3417 6 ай бұрын
Look at Ducharme on the bench at 4:27 left in the third on the game clock, and at 1:00:48 on the video timer - ice bag, look at the look in her eyes; Caroline is still struggling physically... you're right, she is a talent, but her body is not keeping up with her. And, if you watched her pre-season interviews she said whatever it is she is dealing with is a day-to-day, up-and-down situation. She isn't "warming the bench"; something is still not right with her health...

To win a national championship, you need lots of easy buckets and the Huskies sure maximized opportunities in this game with lots of fast breaks, but those opportunities diminish against better teams. Until UCONN improves their half court game and their 3-point shooting, it’s going to be an uphill battle. Easy fast break points can supplement your offense, but it can’t be your offense. They have all the tools this season, but so far, outside of Paige and Aubrey, the upper class-men are under-performing. Right now, it looks like the freshmen, including Ice, are going to have to continue picking up the slack. So far, they’ve been impressive. Not a great formula, but if it works, who’s going to argue.
@lastonestanding3417

"if it works, who's going to argue." right, so what are you talking about here??? "under-performing" "picking up the slack" I remember you from last year; you don't seem to understand Coach A; regular season is prep for March / April... you're nitpicking on stuff and calling it, "not a great formula" there isn't a formula at this point - the formula is being developed; for Coach A the season doesn't start until the conference tournament - that's what he has said

Two more physical body's to lay down some very hard fouls the show this league and the Corrupt NCAA officials they will not be bullied.
