Chris, you should revisit this. I’m curious what changed. I work around UCSD I always passed this area from Voigt Dr/ Hopkins.

The last time I was there, a lot of the trails had been shut down. I'll probably go bak this summer.

Those trails are so different than anything I have ever biked. Very interesting looking. Thanks for the video.

Nice tour of the trail system and campus. It's been a few years since I've ridden the dirt trails there, but one of the things I don't like is all the eucalyptus trees. They're just so sloppy and their debris taints everything. It's looking like they've sealed off some of the lower elevation Trails toward the freeway direction that I liked there. Good job on the log roll in the beginning. Nice theme of all the stairs that were rideable. They form nice and look cool on camera. In particular that first one that skirted the water pools was a really nice videographicly. I never knew they had that snake art on the sidewalk. It sounds like it's worth my taking a ride over there and farting around on the campus.

Thanks! They sealed off a lot of the lower elevation trails, which is a bummer. There are some really fun sections through that area. Hopefully they'll reopen them at some point. Either way, it's still fun to ride the upper trails and then cruise around campus.

Damn nice. Been at least 7 years since I’ve ridden those trails that way. Would you be open to trail guiding sometime for EVA?
@MTBTrailReview4 жыл бұрын
I would definitely be open to it once we're on the other side of the pandemic.

Thanks for the review. Will be sure to check out UCSD:) Question about your cam: How do you get your footage to look so stable? I wear a chest strap, but my video gets jerky when I am riding down stairs. Tried running some clips through Premiere, but everything still looks a bit jerky and the crop out clips are not that great. Thanks!

You're welcome! My stabilization is all in the camera. The Rylo has unreal EIS, to the point where it's almost gimbal quality.

What tires are you running with?
@MTBTrailReview3 жыл бұрын
Right now I'm using the Maxxis Assegai up front and the Aggressor in the rear.

@@MTBTrailReview new to mountain bike and bought my first mtb, a giant fathom. It comes with ardent race front and back. More likely than not, it's my inexperience biking in loose surface, but descending on those tires is scary.
@MTBTrailReview3 жыл бұрын
@@docfmf8404 Nice! It could be both. Descending the loose over hard pack definitely takes a lot of practice. That's a much less aggressive tire, so you would feel a difference if you decided to change it. It might be worth changing out the front to start, then see if you feel a difference.

Where u parked was that public parking and what day did u go as it seems a bit empty on the campus?
@MTBTrailReview4 жыл бұрын
We parked on Campus Point Drive, and it's all public street parking. We went on Labor Day, so it was pretty empty.
