100% a throw. And a dangerous one as well. Used by the great Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki.

This is Yoko wakari

Both “sacrifice throws” are very similar however Yoko Wakari focused on traditional Grips with side projection while Ude Gaeshi has the arm control “spinning under” in Jiu-Jitsu is commonly called “Tornado Throw”

Ude-gaeshi is a prohibited technique in judo competitions

As it is the Morote-Gari but still great techniques to learn. Also please take in consideration our videos are more focused on take downs for Jiu-Jitsu & Self-Defense instead of Sport Judo. Oss

😂 Judo techniques forbidden to use in judo . IJF is unfortunately the face of judo to the world and what a clown sport (and I mean sport aspect) it’s become .

@@EveryoneBJJ Respectfully, I believe some techniques are legitimately banned for safety reasons. This is one of them because the torque applied to the arm can go horribly wrong - particularly when applied by inexperienced practitioners. Many other rule changes, I agree, make little sense and do water down the art such as the ban on leg grabs.

In Sport Judo the only real difference is that when applying Ude Gaeshi the technique focuses on one arm of uke and in Yoko Wakare you take a natural grip. In actual application Ude Gaeshi utilizes an arm lock to motivate your opponent to throw themselves to avoid a break… keep in mind our videos are 100% focused on techniques for Jiu-Jitsu & self-defense not specific for Sport Judo. Ude-gaeshi IS NOT a throw...
@EveryoneBJJ2 жыл бұрын
It is a sacrifice throw using an arm twist.

@@EveryoneBJJ no, it's not. tori's intention is to give an armbar (kansetsu-waza: variation of ude-hishigi-te-gatame) and, in order not to tap, uke projects himself to save his joint, and thus, tori scores one way or another (either in the "projection" or in the arm lock) in case uke is unable to defend....

Not disagreeing however still a throw. As you’ve mentioned “score either way”.
