Nobody talks about how good the vocals sounds through this amp! Perfect and loud enough for rehearsal and small gigs. PA system in a small box. it's great!

Well done, Ben. Great A-B-Comparison of two amps that need a direct listening one after another. Fingerstyle playing and strumming in a very dynamic way! In my opinion you've got to listen to this recordings several times. First, I was more impressed of the AER. I think it sounds more accentuated and pointed in the high and low frequencies. But after switching between the sections the Udo makes the match because of its warmth and balance over all.

Two months after.... I bought the DaCapo75 and I'm very impressed of its perfomance. All tested guitars sound very accurate like they do without amplification. I play a Furch Gc-CM and since I got the udo, I prefer practicing over the amp! The effects are good and useful in my opinion, but that's a matter of taste for sure. I contacted Udo Rössner and asked him about a footswitch to get the tap delay. He was very kind and interested in my music. Nice communication. By the way, I use a Boss FS-6 double footswitch, wich works very well with the amp without any noise-making. It's not a design-winner, but a very usefull feature.

Great demo! For me the de Da Capo wins it: clearer, cleaner , more balanced and natural, more separation of tone, less bass heavy. I think de da capo is a natural progression of the man behind the AER sound. Also i think it’s no coincidence that Tommy Emmanuel moved on to the da capo. That said i think it’s great that the demo wasn’t played on a Maton!!!

man what a beautiful tone in the intro!!! I also liked the camera shots, i should use the in my videos.

I'm pleased that you chose an Epiphone to do this demo, it was a great help in me deciding to buy the Da Capo to go with my 'Inspired By Gibson' J200. The problem I had with my AER 60 was the compression which was too much, wheras the Da Capo sounds more 'open' and less squashed when strumming. 🤓

Much prefer the AER. Love Ben's playing, and expressiveness. We cant all afford high end gear, so a nice Epi and a good amp make a great combination.

The AER does it for me as it projects more. Some nice guitar playing Ben - a good demo and good presentation. The Da Capo 75 still sounds good, very warm and natural sounding. I agree , chorus is more an electric guitar thing. That high pass filter is pretty 'savage'!

Right now I'm playing through a Fishman Loud Box Mini, 60 watts, 8" and a tweeter, two inputs (one is instrument only and the second input is instrument cable and a Mic input -all in one), reverb and chorus, 3 band EQ and D.I. out for $349 with a mic and a stand and a cable. It's loud! I also have an Epiphone Inspired Texan acoustic 6 string with a Fishman pickup built in...just like the guitar that he's playing here. BUT...tonight I'm playing my G&L ASAT Classic BluesBoy (Natural) which is a hollow body Telecaster because it is so resonant acoustically that I decided to hear it through an acoustic amp (besides my Marshal JTM45 for electric guitars). If it had the same acoustic strings as my Insp. by Texan I am sure it would be really great acoustically!

Looks like another good option. Would liked to have heard the microphone inputs, with a mic-ed up guitar and even vocals...

Well my Da Capo 75 arrived today and I tried all my acoustic instruments through it, but I couldn't get what I was hoping for as the sound was better directly through my PA so I packed it up and returned it. Maybe I'm spoiled with my PA, but it sounded a lot better than through this amp, including effects, EQ everything. I sold my AER Compact 60 a few years ago and I guess I've learned how to get the best out of the PA since then. The good news is it saved me £776. 😊

10:20 having chorus as a built in effect makes no sense unless you can adjust the depth and speed of the chorus. It's like having a built in delay but not being able to adjust the delay setting.

The best Acoustic tone can be achieved through an L R Baggs M1 Active through a solid state, non acoustic amp! A Marshal or Fender solid state combo. Tone Heaven! If you don't believe me try it, I've tried every combination of pickup/amp on the market!

Great guitar player, not much of an amp salesman. If he doesn’t like effects on acoustic that’s fine but I think the reverb, delay, and chorus add a little something to the sound and would be useful if playing live with another guitar player or for recording in the studio. You could layer parts on top of one another and create some interesting soundscapes. Very hard to differentiate between the two amps. This is one of those things you need to be in the room to hear. Tommy Emmanuel has used both of these amps live and blends the sounds of the amp and the PA to create a sound like I have never heard before. It feels like you are being washed in a wave of sound. Tommy has said he just wants one good clean sound live and he will do the rest with his hands. Cool amps but pretty expensive for the average player.

Is the Capt. the only one who knows how to use the A/B footswitch? Seriously Skinny Ben, let's employ all that cool gear in the room that we can. You did say the comments would light up over your A/B statement, but I bet you didn't see that one coming... ;) On a side note, you sure do make that pos Epiphone sound great and finally..., finally! Someone says the full word Auxiliary. Everytime I hear someone say Aux as if that is the word itself I want to hit them with a dictionary....

Unfortunately no one sells either the AER 60/4 nor the Da Capo 75 here in Canada. I've emailed both AER and da Capo companies and gotten zero response. While I like both amps and after a bit of research including this video, the Da Capo 75 a bit more, without any support here in Canada, neither are an option. You'd think both companies would be looking to get into the market here. Lot's of acoustic players.

Thanks for the video friend! To be honest, the pickup sounds pretty bad, I would never listen to a recording with this sound or do a gig with this result. With that said, the AER makes the guitar sound a bit warmer and with more punch. If I would have a piezo-sounding guitar-rig I would go for the AER without doubt.

$899? You could buy any solid top cheap acoustic and an L R Baggs M1 and get a better tone than this, I've owned a £5000 Fylde and a £450 Sigma both fitted with an M1 both sounded the same through a solid state amp/PA, but be aware acoustics sound trash through a tube amp! Even with a great pickup!
