I found some great cheap stainless steel drums and was thinking of setting one aside, then I thought.. dissimilar metals. I have never seen a SS UDS let alone a stick burner.

Michael Fischer you have a good mine .. I have seen several stainless smokers, however you don’t see mini because they are about $500 a drum. Bring one to me and I’ll give you free parts

I just got the 139.00 kit. I am going bunt the drum today. It kid of cold here in New York so No paint till spring. I do hope to be cooking this weekend

Dana Hart exciting to hear.. I’ve painted in 26 degree weather.. I had to have a drum painted so I warmed up my garage with a heater, once I got the room temperature warm enough, I cracked the door about 2 foot and put a fan in front of it running full speed to suck out the overspray out. And I painted that drum.. worked perfect..

Right on. No garage here all outside. I have had 7 or so store built smokers all costing over the 139.00 The kit I got from UDS Parts is by far better. Paint will have to wait but the Somking and eating will start this weekend

For the 139$ kit measuring from the bottom up should in inches should I drill the vent holes thanks

Roy Villegas 3 inches is great to work properly with that basket ., the charcoal basket grate is at 3-1/2 so you want your air to come in just below

Can you show us how you hangs ribs on that kit. Would they be againts the wall of the barrel? If so is there a way to center the ribs. Want to buy but that's my only concern. Thanx in advance

Hugo Aguilar it comes with Rib hooks that are designed to hang off the grate.. You would need to cut your ribs in hang from the grate level. What you can do, is mount additional grate bolts about 2 inches from the top and that will give you the proper distance to hang full racks with this kit

Ken Olson Yes sir, I put a diffuser 3 inches above the fire basket. I use the old Smokey replacement grate at Academy for $8.99
