UE Megaboom battery WTF?

I have been wrestling with a non charging UE Megaboom for 2 years. Finally fixed it!! The charger they give you is too short and doesn't make proper contact. Trim back the surround a couple of millimetres with a scalpel. Fixed!!!!

Solved it! My speaker is working again! Here is how i did it! I was having the same issue with my speaker Bluetooth light flashing and just like everyone else here I searched forums and videos and found no answers. So I did the rational thing and tried pressing buttons and doing the factory reset. Here are where things got interesting. When you press the + and - button along with the power button it does the factory reset. However, I found that if you press the + button and the Bluetooth button (even while it is flashing fast), the Bluetooth connection drums sound appeared. 2 seconds later, I was connected to my laptop, with the Bluetooth light finally still. There you go, hope it works for you! Also, make sure that you are using the original charging cable and wall plug as well, otherwise like myself and many others, you will have the issue of hearing "low charge" and just running into a whole bunch of errors.

Damm I just saw your video bro because I was having this issue and as I was doing my research I found a group on reddit and a guy who explained the solution to this problem, hope it helps anyone who's having this issue in 2024.. basically my speaker will only sound when I had the charger connected and as soon as I unplug the Wire, the sound will stop but the song was still running on my phone and on the other hand the battery was everywhere, first it said 40% then 80%. The way to fix this issue plug the wire and play a song, then pause it so the loud noise won't blow your ears for yhe next step, then pull the volume of the speaker all the way up till it makes the max noise on the speaker, keep pressing it while making the noise repeatedly and then unplug the wire, lower the volume down from the speaker and play the song again issue fixed.. once you check the volume it should be back to normal.

It sounds like there is also an air leak somewhere in the speaker. Perhaps one of the passive radiators came unglued. Same thing happened with mine

Hey have you updated the software. I didn’t watch your video but I saw that you have the same kind of boom as I got yearsssssssss ago. I updated the pair and they literally work sooooo much better . Hope that helps you

Dude even if u charge 100% when you reset it will be 40% idk why but when cu connect to the phone from 10 mins it will be again 100% or 90%

Have you tried changing the battery? It's very easy to do also make sure the battery header pins are connected to the pcb as that was the issue with mine.

No problem ... just a delay. Lithium batteries shouldn't be over-discharged, or over-charged, and the parameters are set conservatively on this speaker; in an attempt to extend the battery life....

Man if you still have the thing you just have to keep factory resetting the speaker it will eventually start charging agian. I had to do it about 3 times but it then started charging

Mine is kind of crazy with battery status. Sometimes the speaker alerts me about low battery (less than 20%) and then I charge it for about 10 min and it jumps to 80%. Can't rely on it.

@@chiomachinweze2534 Hi, sorry for taking so long to answer. I leave mine charging for a couple of hours. Actually there is an issue with the battery management of some speakers. Try contacting Logitech support for help.

Mine says 100% charged if I hold down but the top blue light is flashing and it won't pair up. I tried factory reset holding down minus volume and still it won't connect. The light stop flashing then started again. any ideas welcome

@@FourDollaRacing the problem was I had the same speaker before that and lost it so I had to delete the other speaker off my phone before it would recognize the new one

My passive radiator came unglued too but I repaired it but it started clipping and turning off so not rly rely able

You are lucky. My phone and the UE voice says 100% charged but as soon as you pull the charging plug it dies...lol

I emailed them like 3 times I’ve had my speaker one year it won’t charge at all I left it charging all might died in 2 mins died on charger I’ve tried 2 different and plugs they won’t reply to my emails anyone know what I can do
