Rain, urban decay, knife crime... yep, it's England! The aesthetic looks so good mate, I love the retro police car. Keep up the great work.

Hey aha I didn't want to go the obvious route originally (give a stereotypical view of the UK) but then I remembered I live here and said to myself "that's the only way to show it accurately" aha just kidding it's not all bad :D thanks for watching :)

Do you have any suggestions on how to model?
@AaronMYoung Жыл бұрын
I learned to model from KZbin, I would recommend deciding on a modeling program I suggest Blender, then use KZbin to help get you started creating what ever it is in the tutorial until you feel comfortable to start something solo.

A little late, but I’m currently working on a level pretty similar to this and I want to capture that PS1 style. How do you usually go about texturing the buildings? I’ve been having a hard time figuring out the best way to do that. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!
@AaronMYoung2 жыл бұрын
I typically find good reference images to base the building on, and use tools like shoebox to help grab base textures. Making adjustments to the texture, color,lighting,detail etc... :)

The external fireescape stairs on the block of flats really doesnt feel like UK to me, but otherwise it all looks pretty good. Also it is still quite rare for people to call their flats apartments, though I hear it more often these days. Also aircon isnt that popular and usually I would only expect to see units like that on office blocks not so much on residential
@AaronMYoung2 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything... creatively tho typical UK flats would be quite tight and uninteresting if I made it realistic. I kinda invented my own sort of housing building which is fitting since the city Arthur lives in is fictional (still haven't decided on the name :'D) as for the air con I agree I might just remove them :) I guess what I'm aiming for is to give the vibes of UK but also give the player freedom to explore. Thanks for taking your time to comment it's made me think on how I should approach getting the vibes right.

Looks phenomenal. Attention to details is off the charts. Would have loved an extended opening credits with a closeup front facing camera of protaganist riding his bike through the streets in the rain before he showed up at his apartment. Also think the font choice looks a bit too comic sansz a bit amateur compared to the rest of the visuals and audio.
