Enlightening Experience with Spline PCG: Gratitude from a Korean Student I had the privilege of receiving education on the proper utilization and selective removal of spline PCG (Procedural Content Generation) in the form of a shining video tutorial from my teacher. I express my sincere gratitude for the insightful guidance provided. It is heartening to know that students in Korea appreciate the knowledge imparted to them. While the tutorial covered essential aspects of spline PCG, I believe additional instruction on the intricacies of passing parameters from Blueprints to Actor properties when using PCG would be immensely beneficial. The process of navigating and implementing this aspect has proven to be challenging and complex. Further insights and guidance in this area would be greatly appreciated. this video is good but there are a lot of things you do in the video without mentioning them. I had to rewatch it to see all the things you had clicked in silence so that i could troubleshoot my fence lol

Note: (PCG) Landscape Projection step (starting at 6:06) does not work the same in Unreal 5.3. The differences start with the StaticMeshSpawner node creating a To Point node in between SplineSampler and StaticMeshSpawner. The Projection Node creates a Make Concrete node from the Difference node, and when that happens, the fence mesh disappears when placing the actor in the world. Note 2: The Narrator stops consistently calling out what they're doing around the 3:30 mark, and it makes following the tutorial significantly more complicated.

The other issue I'm running into is that if I modifying the actor location or change anything on the actor and then hit Ctrl+Z, the fence mesh duplicates itself at a seemingly random location on the map and is only removed by manually deleting it or deleting the entire actor and starting from the level and starting over.

This is good stuff! Quick Question, when I put a wide curve in the spline, the fence ends do not line up, anyway I can keep the ends connected ?

I figured it out, if you put a "TRANSFORM POINTS", right before the Static Mesh Spawner, and lower the Min and Max offset numbers in the X and Y axis, you can get them to align when you put bends in your spline.

Great tutorial, straight to the point, i appreciate it! If i am not rude, could you give some pointers either in comment or in a new video, how one could use this in building (with interior rooms) generation. Like using a closed spline to define the building footprint and divide that area with rooms to start with. I see a potential with PCG but the problem i feel with unreal as a beginner is that even if i have an idea to try, i dont know what nodes/components i need to do it. Maybe it is just me but not everything is self explanatory. Thanks!

The documentation on the new additions to unreal engine is not the best, the way I learn is by trial and error, you can also look at the source code of the nodes. Creating a building is a slightly more complex process. I will check the topic and if it is relatively easy to understand then I will create a video tutorial

get actor data is not showing on my blueprint when im search for it what im doing wrong?

Get Actor Data is a PCG node, therefore it will not be possible to find it in Blueprint, you first need to create a PCG graph and then you can find it, a video showing how to do this is attached kzbin.info/www/bejne/apTNoWWjqNGhpZo

I have the same problem, when i search for get actor data in the PCG graph, nothing pops up.
