Crazy how much time you spent texturing the house by hand. I always thought these things have to be done fast and procedurally but you literally handpainted a lot of it. It really adds the details you wouldn't expect in a render, making the scene look (more) photoreal. Thx for the breakdown, I learned a lot just watching that. 🙏

Thanks, I am glad it was helpful! I do a lot of things procedurally, but it has his limits. If everything is procedural it tend to look a bit fake and generated. The house in that case is almost a Hero props so definitely will be hand painted.

@@DamSchool I'd make a custom workflow on Comfyui where you can provide render passes of your geometry from the projection mapping camera viewpoint and through controlNet make it work. If you want we can try together.

Your dedication is truly paying off. Getting here day by day to get inspiration. I'm also working on making Nordic landscape myself, but I'm facing challenges with texturing. Did you utilize Gaea maps? If so, which ones specifically, considering the variety in your video? Or did you employ an automaterial?

I used a blend of Gaea texture but mostly used the Flow maps to drive Hi rez maps. Red blue and Green channel with differentes textures

Thank you so much! I do like Unreal, it's seriously quite insane what you can achieve with Lumen and Nanites. Without Nanite I woudn't have been interested. It's like the Vray proxies of CG. Coming from Vray I do find unreal very frustrating in some points, not easy to use and the material....not even speaking about this haha. But overall I really enjoy the experience, it has it s problem but also it's advantages. Both are very good tools anyway. The question is, are you okay waiting for your render? This in 4k - 20 secondes video took like 8 mins to render.... Plus I do love the interactivity of unreal viewport. But at the end you will be confronted by lots of limitations, but the gap is getting reduce after each releases of Unreal. Sorry, long answer :D

+1 I would love to use this as a way to get into Unreal Engine. I only used it for simple game engine manipulation, but it clearly has CG potential! Coming from Blender, would it be easy to setup keyboard commands to suit?@@DamSchool
