It amuses me how some people don't understand how devastating that front kick would be if landed properly, your best bet would be to just try and move your organs out of the way;)

Way back in time in florida I remember Rick Martin got disqualified in the underground badman contest because he would end the fights too quick with toe kicks to the thigh and jaw.

For years I was affiliated with West Palm Beach Uechi dojo. I only heard about Sensei Ric Martin some years after he joined them and I left them but I know he had a formidable reputation as a fighter. If I remember they trained for a while under Sensi Gushi but I'm not sure. I'm fortunate to have had excellent sensei. So are you.

I respect this ability and the history and techniques.. No one I know wears armuor,that these kicks are meant to defeat,,, Kicking with toes to penetrate gaps in armuor,,,, I would run from a dude like this if I could...

Ron Tate lol you can see he sticks his kicks for a split second, to driver that power deep into the body. I'm sure he would retract it faster in a real fight, but the power would be felt.

exactly just what I was looking for, especially the last type you hit with the lateral part of foot, I was just doing it hitting the wall, but I'll put a bag like that instead

High Octane so where does the pain came from?
@ilj27964 жыл бұрын
Muhammad Ali Alfikri so what a lot of people don't notice is that when he throws his front kick, he's actually looking to kick you with his toes, a good toe kick to soft parts on the body is devastating because all the energy is concentrated into one spot (the point of impact where the toe connects), experiencing pain from it is an understatement to be honest

@suissecarnifex I would agree. Shaolinquan, to me, has way too many patterns. This is one of the reasons I really enjoy Taijiquan. Taiji is Shaolinquan refined and honed to to use less patterns for similar purposes. To me this means it should be faster to master... depending on your definition of mastering a martial art. xD

Isso é Uechi ryu
@sniperdoc840413 жыл бұрын
Since Uechi-ryu Karate is based on Shaolin Kung Fu it would only seem proper for them to have the front foot as they do. The Bow and Arrow stance for Shaolin Kungfu should have the front foot turned inward at a 45 degree angle, and the rear foot is 180 degrees behind the front foot, also with the foot at 45 degree angle. The rear heel should be lining up with the front ball of forward foot. The front knee should also not pass beyond the foot. The stance is relatively wide.
@DrunkenJinger3 жыл бұрын
No. Actually Uechi-ryu is based off of a southern Chinese style called Pangai Noon.
