Man this is all advanced even for me, someone whos going to trade school for IT work I know what cvars and the console are, but I dont have nearly enough UE experience to make use of them All that said beyond glad the option is there for people who know way more then me, this tool really seems to be able to turn any UE game into a true VR game if you have enough knowledge Edit: spelling

Dude this was the EXACT video I needed. Literally rhe first game I booted up with UEVR was Octopath traveller I and the damn blur was so bad it was unplayable.

Just got around to doing this and one small detail that could catch people out, the = seems to be required, so if your console command was r.WaterSurfaceReflections 0, it would need to be r.WaterSurfaceReflections=0 to work from inside the ini file, at least this was the case on the game I was testing.

nice hey i tested a lot of prated games hit and miss. I do notice my trigger is intermittent in all games. to get it working I just need to open the UEVR ui and close it to reset my right trigger. Good job guys now we need mods to add in vr interactive puzzles

Interesting video, just for clarification would adding the games cvars to the cvar_data.txt file not work? Having the profile include all the adjustments obviously makes it easier to share and avoids accidental reversions with updates etc, but I guess that may not be supported currently?

I think so, but UEVR might not necessarily be able to load them there. Need to experiment more with that but thanks for highlighting it!

Hi Alex, could you tell me how to make it work for It Takes Two split screen, please? The camera only follows one player and we can't get rid of the black line in the middle . Thanks so much for everything you and Praydog have done for us all❤

Hey, try watching my video on that on the channel when I played with eliotttate. One player selects a number in the split screen compat pane. The other player selects a different number to match their player. Might need to do another video on it specifically. Also been a while since I played it so not sure if it has any new issues. Every new build could secretly break something in a random game or make things better 😆 Head over to the ue-games section of the flat2VR discord. So are there cvars that can change post process volume settings? For example I've found one that controls lens flares but in the cvardump it says it's only changed in the project settings which might be overridden in the post process volume. So if you spawn the console, press the tilde key, then type into the console that appears in game: r.DefaultFeature.LensFlare 0 Did that turn it off? When typed into the display console you can check before the above step it shows a 1, then afterwards should show a 0 in the display console that it has worked. If it looks good you can consider adding it to the engine.ini file and saving it as read only so you don’t have to type it in every time you play. Also share it in the ue-games section of the discord for others to know about as well!

We are still working on universal teleport. You can see some early videos on my channel of us experimenting with it and how it might work when implemented into the public beta ❤ I can cover general motion sickness tips as well though! There are quite a few worth sharing.

Maybe, in order to make something universal (since, I guess, Half Life Alyx has a specific engine to predict movements for the teleport option) could be also to detach the camera that (otherwise constantly) follows the character and with the press of a button instantly regain the intended position

I can open the in game console with ~ and run commands but in the video you return to the display console and it's filled with all the stuff. Mine is completely empty. How did you get there? 2:08

hmm, the console doesn't work with tilde '~'... I found a UE4 console injector named 'Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker', it says that for keyboards like mine the '~' hotkey won't work if you have to hold Shift to use it i.e. I have to use (Shift+`=~)... it feels like this also applies to the UEVR console this console injector lets you change the trigger hotkey... I changed the hotkey to '\' which worked better, but still couldn't console modify the Cvars for the game 'The Fidelio Incident' (looks amazing in VR)... I read with some games like this and Jedi: Survivor, "Engine.ini" tweaks won't work

HI you can display sbs on monitor without vr ? because i connect LUME 2 TABLET (Moonlight 3D) for any 3d (vorpx or ReShade) better than vr

ej man so I tried getting rid of Psychonaut 2 character but the real game console doesn't say anything when I for example type "r.Shadow.PerObject=0" it just closes the console. When I check the UEVR console it doesn't change the setting to "0". Did the same steps you did in this tutorial. I s it maybe the case that this doesn't work on every game or am I missing something?

So I have no idea what I am doing but found the right config file making this setting work :D this disables the shadow of every object though. If anyone knows a way to only target the player shadow in Unreal engine please let me know, even ChatGTP couldn't help me

For VR in general, even outside of UEVR, frame generation tech in DLSS and AMD FSR does not work and is not supported currently.

No but you can use VRs built in frame generation, this would be ASW/SSW for quest (ASW for airlink/link/rift and SSW for virtual desktop) and motion smoothing for any steamVR headset which I'm pretty sure includes using steam link
