Very nice review! I've been looking at these winter jackets for a while so having hands-on feedback is nice. I've been wanting to pick up an Arcteryx Leaf WX Lt but since I'm a civilian I am no longer able to purchase new. This is another jacket that seems very similar.

Thanks, glad you liked the review! I was looking at the Arcteryx jackets when I was first deciding on what jacket to get and dismissed them since they seemed overly expensive for what you're getting. I didn't even realize they're entirely gov. restricted so that's really lame.

@@Feldmutze they have seemed to jack up their prices as they've become fashionable to wear these days. I've had a couple older Arcteryx jackets that have held up great and are nice pieces. However, it's only the "LEAF" lineup they make which are supposed to be a bit tougher wearing, that are now limited to Military or Law enforcement only. No idea why... it's stupid to me so I'll just leave them off my next jacket list.

Had mine for over a year, generally agree with your review, would like to add my biggest complaint with this jacket. The hood retention, when stowed, is garbage. It will not stay in place when stowed. I like everything about this jacket except that.

I can see that. I tend not to use the hood retention almost ever, but when I have it hasn't worked very well.

Great video mate. Question, I’m stuck on what sizing to go for either Medium or Large. I’ll be deploying in February to where it’s going to be -10 to -20 Celsius. Wearing layers underneath and body armour over the top would you recommend sizing up and going large?

I'd recommend sizing up, especially since you'll be layering pretty heavily in that sort of weather. When I've needed to wear extra layers with this jacket I've usually done so with a heavier flannel and vest, and it fits well with that, but if you're doing any more layering it'll start to get a bit tight.

@@Feldmutze Cool I noticed yours is a large? If you don’t mind me asking what are your dimensions? Height and weight you look a similar size to me 👍🏻

Yes I got mine in large. I'm 188 cm in height and 66 kg. If you go to this jacket on UF PRO's site they actually have a "Find your size" button you can use. I usually wear Medium shirts (at least in US sizing) but I used their sizing button and it recommended I buy a Large, and that worked for me, so it might be worth using to get their recommended size that and then sizing up further if necessary.

Yeah lol I wanted to put on the hood for a bit since I'm reviewing the jacket, but otherwise I prefer to not wear any hats/hoods at all in my videos since I think it tends to look weird, though I've been changing that lately since it's not worth my head freezing or having the sun in my eyes the whole time.

look up the bolle bedrocks. 35 bucks. I'm going to get a pair here soon. Don't know if they can handle glasses in them or not.

The gear journey never ends. Thanks for the reminder on that yellow lens. I completely forgot about it but now that you mention it I do recall and I'll test it. I looked up those Bolle goggles and they look pretty good, though also they look like they fit pretty close to the face so I don't think glasses would fit under them.

@@Feldmutze Alright... what was the company that did the goggles that you felt comfortable with your glasses... cuz I'm saying. I had a one time chance at costco to get just something close to this 5 years ago. And can not find them since and before that... it was 20 years. My point is... is you have to custom make them and I'll try doing it with the company that you liked that fit your glasses. Video last year.

The goggles I use are Rothco OTGs and those have plenty of room with all the glasses I have. If it's a video from last year though, you might be thinking of Miravision which made the prescription lens insert I had made for my gas mask.
