calling this disc up at 9:03 is nasty work…
@jc39404 ай бұрын
Need a solid video review process for the refs to have the power to overturn their bad calls like at 9:03. That disc 100% hit the turf before his hands. Close, but with multipile video angles nobody's still calling that a goal.

slowing down the video at the time you noted, im not going to lie man, it looks up. Definitely could use some video review process, but he has a hand on it before it hits ground. Now, did the ground assist in the catch? idk but thats a different argument

looked at other camera angles, i retract my call :)

It's a shame. After that DC lost their momentum.... probably because they couldn't get the bad call off their mind

Weird game. Klane's upwind throws were a difference maker.

Klane was great, if it's super windy again I want him taking most of our deep shots for sure.

The reality is that some of these calls, either up or down, are so close that *even with refs watching carefully* the right call can only be reliably made with instant replay. The players are in a competitive state of mind, and it could easily affect their judgement, and for decades this has been the case. If the replay *clearly* shows that a disc was up or down, and if it affects possession, then an I.R. stoppage should be made quickly, both team captains shown clearly what occurred, and possession changed. This would improve the fairness of the game. Other video processes could be used to assist in adjudicating fouls as well, or analyzing potentially dangerous play. This is the future of Ultimate - - players should compete with the right attitude, and in competitive games technology is applied when appropriate so as to ensure a high level of sportsmanship and fairness. The one call that was close in this highlight vid occurred in a fraction of a second, easily outside of normal human judgement, and it almost doesn't matter what people think or imagined happened, the video replay will often tell the truth. Lookin forward to Finals!

What's the point of having refs if they can't even get the call right (i.e. missing vid review, no hate to the individuals)? 9:03 doesn't happen with WFDF rules

Double teams are allowed. (But only two defenders; you can't triple-team.)

You’re the real hero. I hate when I go to watch a game where I don’t know who wins and I can see the top comment talking about who won.

Minnesota 12th point score pass was down
@bobdylan37664 ай бұрын
Such a heartbreak. DC deserved the win here, but it just wasn’t meant to be this year. Yes, pivotal disc was down, but DC had a disc down earlier as well. Refs were a bit on the Madison side, but overall just unlucky with weather.
