UFC #1 Contenders Now vs UFC #1 Contenders 5 Years Ago

As there have been so many videos on UFC champions lately, I decided to matchmake UFC number 1 contenders now vs 5 years ago. This is interesting as the fighters are completely different, some aren't even in the UFC anymore. Please let me know your thoughts on these.

Adesanya wasn't ranked number 1 in 2018, he wasn't ranked number 1 until his interim title win in 2019. I believe Yoel Romero was still ranked number 1 in 2018.

I know styles make fights and MMA math doesn’t work but Aljo stood for 3 rounds with Pedro Munhoz when Pedro was fresh off of his R1 KO win over Cody and won every round, outstruck Yan for 2 rounds in their first fight, 1 round in their second fight, beat Cejudo on the feet, took the first round against O’Malley on the feet etc, and used different strategies for each fight That’s not even taking into account the grappling that he could flow into his striking at any time. Unless we’re saying it’s the god mode Cody that showed out against Cruz, Aljo could take him. But Cody from the Dillashaw 1 to the Munhoz fights is still very dangerous. Even though they’re all losses, I consider that Cody’s consistent top level before the downfall with Cruz being the inconsistent outlier/ a matter of styles making fights
