1 hour 24 in.. I agree. Masvidal is a good anti-wrestler, but he has serious psychological barriers to mixing his striking and takedown defence when facing a formidable takedown artist. First fight with Usman - spammed kicks in the opening exchanges. Just like Dan said, it's like an anxiety driven self-fulfilling prophecy.

I absolutely hate weight cutting in the sport. The fact that a guy the size of Alex is fighting at Middleweight is ridiculous. Even though it's obvious that Adesanya is the better fighter in all aspects, that size and power discrepancy is tough to overcome. This matchup really reminds me of holloway vs poirier. Holloway and izzy both very technical, quick hands, and throw more volume but like poirier, Pereira has the power advantage. And through history when 2 athletes are both technical, have good stamina etc. the power behind the punches make a difference in the later rounds. Samurai Ghost would be more impressive IF the ghost had nothing to do with martial arts as a living person. But after he dies he finds himself with a lot of time on his hands and commits himself to becoming a samurai. So fair play but you guys nut licking perreira just have a blind bias to any mistakes izzy made cause you want to believe isreal was perfect and it was a perfect win for alex, when in fact izzy was about to win and his mistakes caused his own knockout, fair play but not peak izzy.

1:24:58 Exactly, I think Jorge underestimated how much Trevor Wittman helped Usman's striking improve and certainly didn't expect Usman to use a handtrapping combo! Which, if you slow it down, is exactly what Usman did; a handtrap to right hand. Jorge himself used a handtrap in the combo that he ko'd Darren with; Jorge shifted with a handtrap then followed up with hooks. Darren himself also used a handtrap when he knocked Jorge down, earlier in that fight. Now I doubt that would have worked on a striker like Anderson Silva, as with his practiced Chi Sau sensitivity he'd probably just have used a bong sau ("wing arm" block, like he used against the cage with Bisping). P.s sometimes commenters get peeved if I mention wing chun type stuff, so here's a Silva quote just incase... Jorge is winning against Burns. They’re both past 35 , and here’s a couple of reasons why. #1. Look at the odds, burns should not be a 4-1 favorite over anyone in the division. #2. Gilbert is going to try to stand and strike and Jorge has good TDD. #3. Burns struggles with southpaws, and Jorge has good hand speed, with okay power. #4. Don’t play into vegas hands, Burns has been clipped a shit ton recently with Khamzat, and I would say Jorge TDD is better than Neil’s and Wonderboy. So for those reasons and as a gambling man, I would place a unit on Jorge for the upset.
