"You can't officiate every fight the same." I think we just discovered the root problem with reffing and judging. Every fight SHOULD be officiated the exact same. To create a level playing field and no confusion. No wonder judging and reffing is all over the place, and fans and fighters are always confused about who won and why. It's a systemic problem in the training of officials.

The difference is Nate wasn't fighting at WW at the time. He was a lightweight, they just held the fight at 170. Conor actually weighed in 2lbs under the weight limit, he was a small lightweight. Nate was bigger, but unlike Leon Edwards he was fighting at 155 so this comparison doesn't make sense. It wasn't as weird as Topuria fighting Leon would be. It would be closer to Topuria fighting RDA, who can fight at 170 but is currently at 155

Man i used to hate on this pod so hard.. used to say josh wasnt worthy of being on a show with such a world renowned mind of the sport but im man enough to come on here to say i was WAY wrong. Not sure what my beef was with josh.. i am & stll am a tony Ferguson fanboy & even tho tony put it on josh i still wasnt fond of josh for some reason. But i truly didnt even know much about josh. If im being honest i had only watched him fight tony, didnt know he was the only man to truly finish nate diaz by k.o. which that in itself shouldve warranted ultimate respect at the time. But now in hindsight, its even more impressive because conor, one of the most lethal featherweight/lightweight strikers all time gave nate diaz the kitchen sink & nate barely ever got wobbled by conor. Leon Edwards the top 5 p4p & welterweight champion of the world not only didnt come close to finishing nate but was nates 2nd to last mma fight & nate was maybe 10 seconds away from putting leon away. Then ofcourse jake paul, who is new to the fight game but probably fought nate around 220lbs.. did come close but wound up going the distance. Was even starting to drop rounds later on. Sorry if this is a small novel but its time i eat crow. I think my disdain for josh came from something out of his control which was him being a teammate to khabib (the guy who i still to this day think ducked tony.. a FEW times. But that's just my opinion) & ofcourse im a conor guy which we all know what khabib did to him.. then islam, a guy who i dont care much for because hes on paper unbeatable which forces me into wanting him to lose. So all that said, i was being a lil b*tch about josh.. josh was just guilty by association with my judgement. This podcast/show is the #1 searched show in my Spotify search bar. Almost everyday im checking to see if weighing in has uploaded a new episode. I loved this show almost in secrecy because early on i was trashing john for having a terrible co host & didnt want to face the music/my words. Which im st*pid for. As if anybody cared about what i had to say to begin with Im a daily listener to the mma hour/the old r.c & d.c show/now the good guy bad guy pod.. the limp d*ck attempt of usman & cejudo (purely because im a mma die hard & when im desperate for mma content ill check it out) the timbo suga show.. submission radio.. all that.. But theres nothing that can compete with punk & john.
