It's not a terrible game, but I agree with everything said.. you'll get bored in a few hours once you realise it's almost the same as UFC 4. NO ONE enjoys going to the ground, and the submissions are simply not fun or rewarding. Stand up is still super buggy.. SAVE YOUR MONEY

On the "terrible" scale, it's hit and miss. The ground game is terrible, and honestly that includes the new "uninspired" submission system, it's boring, and there's no gratification in pulling off a submission since you're just holding the stick in one direction. The standup is herky jerky.. However the overall presentation has it's moments.

The lack of proper movement physics drops the rating significantly for me. Game is waaay too stiff. That’s one thing, and a very important thing that Undisputed boxing can capitalize on over UFC 5 is footwork physics. I’ve been playing both as of late, and I’m naturally leaning more towards Undisputed for the aesthetics of the movement alone.

For EA to claim that any part of the original reveal trailer was actually part of the in-game engine footage is absurd 😂 It was so clearly a supped up cinematic trailer that had no chance of being that realistic and smooth. Especially when you look at how similar the last 4 games were when it came to mechanics. There was no way they were making that kind of incredible jump. I knew the gameplay was going to be exactly the same as 4 and warned people in many posts to not buy the hype until actual game play came out and sure enough it was UFC 4 mechanics all over again. The cinematic trailer is simply there to hook you with any game, that dosent mean that's exactly what your gonna get though.

I think that easily goes to UFC Undisputed 3. It understands that the ground game cannot replicate "touch" so it keeps it intuitive. Stamina and strike impact feels authentic, and overall you sense the passion squeezed into it. Sadly it's a dated game with no online play.

If you haven't played UFC 4, it's worth the investment now that it's on discount. The campaign is almost identical to 4, however the AI is solid and you do feel a sense of progression. If you own UFC 4 though.. Definitely not worth it

@@gauloiseguy Sup Bro 👋 yes there is a "stand and bang" mode available, and tbh if you're playing with a friend, you'll find more enjoyment from the game since friends tend to avoid using every exploit in the game to win. The same goes with the campaign, since you didn't have no. 4, and 5 being almost identical.. the campaign is actually pretty good.

Stand up is way way to buggy distance is so jacked the graphics are better but the striking actually feels worse and stamina to power ratio is nearly unlimited you can have shit stamina and still throw fast and combo easily plus power doesn’t seem reduced unless your all the way gassed out to nearly 0

I'm enjoying the career ish, but it's not like I'm rushing to play something that I have played for the last 3 years. I agree with UFC 3 undisputed being still the best ufc game to date. There is a ton they could've done with this game, but chose to make something 3 months ago and then have all these shills like Martial Mind lie in the trailer and reaction videoa about what they feel about the game. The online is soooo terrible, really bad input lag, and laggy matches. 90% of fights end by cut, and we can't adjust the settings to make custom matches like we were promised by another shill. Also, Martial Mind complains about such a small issue of online match making for a whole 30 mins lol, when that is not even the core problem with the game, that's a diversion tactic that someone who wants to save his reputation for the followers he has. I honestly think he should just admit he is a sell out and we would respect him a whole lot more, but the fact that people like him continue to monetize off of KZbin, and not being truthful or transparent makes me continue to spread the word about this. It's not right to fuck over your fan base.

I've played EA UFC 5 11 hours lol. I paid $100 for it or whatever it was for Fedor. I have never played an MMA or Combat sports game so little. I've played Supremacy MMA, EA MMA, Every EA UFC, every THQ UFC&Pride FC, K-1 Grand Prix, Bellator, Fire Pro Wrestling ( with custom MMA fighters) , Weekend Warriors, and more which I can't recall. I do not like EA UFC 5 , it feels like 4 which is like a slap in the face. Imagine , as a game designer, thinking that cuts and blood will tell a story. It's ridiculous. Give me MMA mechanics in the game.

Career mode is the same, lack luster presentation/creations, grappling is atrocious, submissions as you say are uninspiring (Very uninspiring for me because I love and train BJJ and it just seems meh), and the roster is lacklustre, I understand you cant have everyone BUT the top 15 at the very least should be in the game. I cant even get through the career mode because its literally the same shit, Im kicking myself for buying this game. Seems to me that EA sports doesn't appreciate Mixed Martial Arts and their UFC games in general, how I miss THQ. Good video though boss, I agree with your points.

EA NEED competition in most fields.. they are abusing their position as leading sports game company by concentrating only on online features (that they can suck even more and more money out of us with). They are satisfied leaving REAL fans disappointed every time because we will STILL give them our money, and people will continue to buy packs and useless skins or clothes for their online characters. We can’t be expecting any better from EA anymore, they’re only in it for the money. This is not the same company that passionately brought to us games like NHL94 or the NCAA Football games back in the days.

The one way I started playing these games that helped a bit of the immersion is removing the HUD. Once you get there it is a bit more fun, but the only downside is not knowing the submission direction

I agree with everything said but tbh I like the game. It feels really good when you actually play it vs watching gameplay, and the damage system is fun. I enjoy to new submission system I think it flows well and looks pretty. The ground game feels more responsive with the new engine and the stand up has better more realistic animations (some not all). Is it a "new" game, nah but it is a better ufc 4. Is it worth 70 dollars, nah absolutely not but the game will eventually go on sale. If your a fan of the sport like myself and youre looking for a simulation game, i think its decent and pretty fun. The graphics are also incredible. It makes it more immersive. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion, so trust your gut.

@@Royal_Assassins Bro to be frank.. I despise this game. As a kid I was one of the best tekken tag players in London, and right now I'm one of the best at undisputed boxinf. EA UFC 5 is over complicated.. And the best players know every move intuitively without having to second guess.. I just can't commit to weeks memorizing a control scheme which is backwards.

@ClaimerUncut Yeah especially the dumbass spin mechanic they literally said in advertising that they were gonna make skills less complicated to do.....to do a spinning elbow you need to press L1, x, o, □ all at the same time. To do a power takedown you press L2, x, and hold just circle. Like this is genuinely one of the worst fighting I've played in my whole fucking life. And I bought this game with low expectations, but typical EA always finding a way to surprise me

@@Royal_Assassins the thing is in "practice" I can pull these things off, however in the heat of battle even uppercuts vs hooks I keep second guessing, especially if I throw a body hook, hook combo.. Sometimes I follow up with an uppercut instead! Everything has me second guessing because the inputs are scattered accross the gamepad with no logic!

Having spent a fair amount of time with ufc 5 i can honestly say I’m disappointed beyond belief. I used to play 4 online quite a bit and playing ufc 5 online feels like a disservice to my inner fight fan. Striking is very spammy and doesn’t reward players with a more realistic approach. I had a fight online and knocked my opponent down 12 times and that is insane given most fighting organizations have knockdown rules for the safety of fighters. ground game is terrible especially if you play career on legendary, the computer usually spams take downs and will hold you on the ground for most part even if you successfully deny transitions and try to escape you’ll 9 times out of 10 be stuck there until they run out of stamina or you’re martial mind lol. the submission change was a nice touch but it isn’t rewarding and it’s very boring after the initial wow factor has worn off. I appreciate what you’re doing as a creator and hope in the future we get the games we deserve.

UFC 5 is currently on sale for $41. IF you want the DLC its cheaper to buy the base game and the separate DLC, comes out to $72 versus the delux edition which is still $100???
