Cory is no Poirier who wins in these spots & actually fights for the belt but Cory can't get past this hurdle. Cory is more like his mate Blaydes, they fumble it in #1 contender or interim title fights. Cory was stuck watching & analysing instead of fighting, but sometimes as a fighter u need to put the labcoat away & let out the Gaethje inside of u. Props to Umar though. Tony was getting love & appreciation of his career, at the end of it, but he chose to interpret it as fans wanting him to continue fighting bc he's in denial.

He's a contender out of a lack of better options, not necessarily that he's made it unquestionable. When you're chasing mega fights towards the end of a career I feel like you need to go for it. Crawford hardly throw in combinations beyond 3 punches, never upped the pace. I love a great technical duel, and I did enjoy the fight, but I was not impressed with eithers performances. To me now this shows that he should just be fighting Ennis, and I give Jaron an even better chance to win after that than i already would have. Bakole stole the show. Valenzuela impressed as well, fulfilled a lot of potential that many weren't sure he would after the loss.
