No reason to be over 280 pounds naturally, and those who are actually that weight like Shaq or Brian Shaw are extreme outliers that would need a weight class of their own anyway. Heavyweights talent pool already sucks as it is, a bigger weight class would be exponentially worse.

I really wish we could stop going to the Apex altogether as it spoils the atmosphere of great contests. The Apex was excellent for keeping the sport going during Covid but it is very disappointing that it can't now come to an end. Fighters will continue to not get the proper live audience they deserve.

So the UFC put on a card in Canada that featured . . . . a Mexican and an Iraqi in the main event. They had Derrick Lewis scheduled but didn't bother with a highly ranked set of replacements if Lewis didn't make it to the cage. Sure enough the co-main ended up being a tiny women's scrap between two Americans. They've got another card this coming weekend. They had a major PPV card the prior week. The UFC is so mismanaged it boggles the mind. Dana White has a golden horseshoe up his arse. They succeed in spite of themselves.

Garbage ass fight nights. Can't believe those Canadians actually paid to sit there in person for these terrible matchups. Low gate, they must be targeting those youngsters with cheap tickets to capture them as fans for the long term vs screwing over all the US fans who are hit with $800-$2500 ticket prices for major city events..I turned it off after the 1st round of the terrible co-main. At the end of the day, UFC makes whatever peanuts on the gate, makes all their sponsorship cash, and converts a bunch of kids into casual fans.. it's all part of the machine.
