Apparently he was getting joint popping noises so it definitely was damaging the ligaments as intended . You never abandon it if it’s breaking until you fully dislocate removing the entire limb from battle . Your opponent is just lengthening his injury time from weeks to never the same as each tear happens . He just needed a bit more pressure for s serious break of the dorsal ligaments n possibly some dislocating. Keep in mind the lighter weights have less strength to fully break all ligaments n dislocate the joint.

Sport BJJ still breeds good self defense. Sport BJJ Mikey fights much different than street fight Mikey. He’s smart he knows what works under what rule set. He wouldn’t butt scoot on concrete. Sport BJJ might not be self defense focused, but it still gives someone a massive self defense advantage as long as they know what techniques to use. In sport BJJ you get taught takedowns and a standup game that would be effective in the street. So whether or not these guys use those street fight effective techniques in competition, they still know how to use these techniques to fight in the streets. Ask yourself, if you’re untrained, would you want to fight in the streets against a top 10 BJJ athlete at their weight class, but he always pulls guard in competition? I highly doubt it.

I think the only way to make BJJ exciting is to make fighters have to go for submissions, and that’s the only way to score points. Instant guard pulling should stop time and warn the fighter, 2nd time take a point, 3rd time DQ. If they stand up and only push, after 2 minutes they both start on the ground. After that they can only get points for their submission attempts or win by submission only.

In the thumbnail, the dude on top really looks like he's checking his phone mid-fight. Tell me you don't see it

I didn’t think I could dislike someone more than Mikey but guess his coach took that place now

I love Mikey as a person I’m just super anti immediately guard pulling. It takes away such an important part of the sport when you just sit down instead of actually incorporating takedowns

Guard pullers are so freaking boring! Hard to watch

Yup I agree! I’m a black belt former guard puller . I still pull guard but it’s just so boring and lame to watch. If we want to grow the sport we gotta take down

@ when two grown men meet in the middle and they both sit down I wanna puke 😂.

@@chaystafari3228 Freestyle wrestling rules exist for people, who don't have a clue of what's going on. Not every sports needs mainstream viewership.

Is it better to fight off your back or from the top in Jiu Jitsu? Which is better, y’all think? I have never trained in Jiu Jitsu, so I have no clue. I just notice Mikey likes to fight from his back. I appreciate the input.
