Great battle …tremendous courage by Davis to stay engaged until he was put to sleep. Two warriors brought it on this night.

This was actually his second fight at welterweight at 170 if you count the one before this against Rory Markham which was at a catchweit of 177 but he was still smaller then he is now.

His best performance was at 155 against Micheal Johnson. Who was no slouch at the time. You are correct but it wasn't just his hands. He was in his best physical shape. He can. Get away with it because his cardio is so good even at 170. But for him to make 155 he needed to diet and really train cardio. He looked his best physically at 55 too. But many other attributes stood out. He was FASTER, STRONGER, LEANER, like across the board better. But it so too much on his body. He wasn't meant to make that weight. It's. A shame because he could of Co ntended at that weight for some time. It wasn't like Penn who didn't have any business at 170. Nate could not just hang but win fights. But 55 was his optimum weight and when he truly peaked

It's weird because his boxing looks slow and almost lazy. His hands are not fast at all, but he uses angles and accuracy to accumulate damage rather than exhaust himself throwing bombs. He doesn't have any noticeable advantages in strength, speed or overall athleticism, but his training and smart game plan gives him crazy stamina so he can just wear guys out at that pace. Some of his finishes seem almost confusing if you only watch the endings, because somewhat lighter shots that wouldn't normally be staggering people are doing so because they are following toms of similar shots. It's scary to think Nate Diaz has likely dished out far more CTE than he's received

When you throw good punches with proper technique those punches are also your guard. It helps protect you. When you lead with your face that is very poor boxing skills. whether you have a good hook or not if you don't have the basics established your defence is shattered. He won't be able to see out of that eye for a while that's for sure. Have to admit Marcus has one hell of a heart.

I miss when Nate did ju jitsu 😥😥 that's the whole reason I became a huge fan of his , than he relied to heavily on his overrated boxing game and took so much damage ..... obviously Perez , Gil , and Jake weren't to real with him

It is odd that a punch like that would cause a slice the way it did. It could be very possible!
