I think a better use of your time (instead of analyzing rankings from 2008 to 2013) would be to discuss how the lighter weight classes have risen in popularity (PPV) and now their prominence is increasingly shown in P4P rankings. You could discuss how in early days UFC actually dropped the LW division, how Zuffa previously used the WEC to exclusively promote lighter divisions, how even today, they UFC is considering dropping the FLW division, and yet in both boxing and now MMA, the FW and LW divisions (145lbs-160lbs, essentially welterweight and middleweight in boxing) are among the most popular, followed and exciting divisions.

Including men and women in the same pound for pound rankings is a bit strange. For example, Amanda Nunes and T.J. Dillashaw both fight at 135 lb. According to this chart, Nunes is a better fighter than Dillashaw pound for pound. In other words, if the two were to fight, Nunes should be the favorite to win. Does anyone else think thats a bit of a stretch? It would make more sense to me to have two separate rankings.
