Aliskerov was out of his element, Pav look scared the entire fight, Brocoli threw no strikes, and not many people know this but it was actually a fly landing on his chin that took Walker out of the fight. Also Kelvin basically cheated. He was well over 200lbs 2 weeks out and knew he wasn't gonna make weight meanwhile his opponent kept his weight low for months thinking Kelvin was gonna make weight. Dalby was truly robbed. I’m all for close fights aren’t always a robbery. It was a close fight. But round for round he very clearly won the second and third. That third round rinat didn’t do ANYTHING but dive for legs and hold on and pray. I’ll re watch it but I don’t remember seeing rinat land many good strikes that round. And if he did, I liked what dalby did way more. Rinat just didn’t wanna be there striking that third round. Thus he DESPERATELY initiated the grappling and didn’t do a good job at all doing so. When a guy gets up so easily I don’t see how you give that exchange to a guy who did nothing but get the take down and hold on. That image of him holding so desperately holding is what tells me the other guy is winning this exchange.

The Dagestani privilege argument is simply that these guys get accelerated up the ladder instead of clawing their way up. The problem with this is not that they win, it’s that they don’t get “over” with the fans until the very end of their career because we haven’t seen them go through the journey. Everyone is gloating about Ikram losing because nobody knows Ikram because Ikram is fighting a top 5 guy when he never fought a top 10 or 15 guy or even a guy everyone knows. We haven’t seen the journey. The real downside of so called Dagestani privilege is that the Dagestanis aren’t integrated into the sport culture and the fans never get the fun of coming to like them during their rise. There is a sensation that Dagestani fighters are just “The House” in poker terms and nobody really cares about their wins or gives them credit because it feels like they aren’t part of the sport culture. They should fight each other more, would alleviate much of this.

would be a solid theory if it wasn't absolute nonsense. Dagestani privilege applies to any muslim fighter so just call it what it is, some dummies say it about Chimaev, dude isn't even from there. How many fights did Khabib take before getting the belt? Islam? Umar? The lot of them fight tonnes before getting a shot, there's plenty of opportunity to watch their ascent. UFC feeds into the whole "us vs them" by holding all their fights until the Dubai and now Saudi cards because they see the money it generates. They won't fight one another. Brotherhood takes precedence over career advancement. Also what is "the sport culture"?
@jonathancrete82413 ай бұрын

I get Islam because there was literally nobody else for the title shot but Umar fought nobody ranked and is now fighting Cory, Ikram fought Alves and got the opportunity to fight Whittaker and before was booked against Costa off of one UFC win, Abus had one UFC win and got Strickland, the UFC is notorious for trying to push certain fighters and these guys are no exception. That makes NO SENSE Joey. If you don't like Sean I get it, if you're trying to be logical, you're wrong.
