I don't think so, people forget BJ Penn has fough elite welterweights when he is a natural lightweight. Rory was just too big and skilled for BJ at this point, but it is a testament that Rory could not finish him in three rounds, BJ Penn is a true legend

He was UFC Champ in 2 weight division and the 1st non Brazilian to win a BJJ world Championshipat the time he beat top top guys in devestating fashion Uno,Gomi Florian,Diego,Serra,Renzo and Rodrigo Gracie,Sherk,Joe Papa,Pulver,Hughes He also ended the carrier of Paul Creighton who was supposed to be the next big thing and Din Thomas.After the 2nd GSP loss he was done.Tell you do those days all the guy were contenders especially in light and welterweight it makes him a legend like him or not!

We are currently helping in Afghanastan. Many of our boys have died there. We helped out in the first Gulf War. i completely agree with you. People say bj penn is not in his prime anymore. HE WAS NEVER IN HIS PRIME. The thing is when your a fighter age doesnt not define how you fight. Just look at anderson silva, he 37 and still one of the best fighters in the world. Bj penn was good in the past, he just cant beat the new generation of fighters.

Bj came in the UFC in 01 n he's still fighting the fighters of today. Aside from Edgar most of his loses came from fighters much bigger than him. U could bring up Hughes n Pulver but he redeemed himself big time against both. He also has victories over Hughes, Sherk, Sanchez, Florian, n Gomi which isn't a bad list of names. Not to mention him n Couture are the only two men in the UFC to hold titles in two different weight classes. He's not overrated man he deserves his accolades

Everyone that has beaten Bj were all much larger men excluding Edgar. He's been a champ in 2 different weight classes n being that he's from the old school he still holds victories over fighters like, Hughes, Sanchez, Sherk, Florian, n Gomi. No one should knock him for losing to Machida, GSP, Diaz, or Rory. ALL those fighters I've just mentioned are, were, or will hold a belt one day in their mma careers

Actually it was BJ Penn who asked for the fight against Rory MacDonald. Rory isn't talking trash any more than BJ has done in the past. BJ has called out Rory because MacDonald is from GSP's camp. BJ needs some sort of closure or vengeance against them. I think BJ has made a big mistake. Rory is an animal. Look at his fights against Nate Diaz and Condit. He lost to Condit in the end, but beat him badly for 2.75 rounds. Condit is no slouch. Rory humiliated Diaz. He's even better now.

Yeah and I am a huge GSP fan, but if Penn puts in the training (like he says he is doing) then he has a good chance of beating Rory. If he just takes it easy, he will get beat. All depends how badly Penn wants it. Penn has the skills to beat Rory.

Ive been watching UFC since #2 and I'm almost positive that BJ is going to lose in spectacular fashion. Everyone knows that all you need to do is push the pace and BJ gasses out after a round. BJ has done a lot for the sport, but his best days are way behind him.

I don't understand why Rory has been seen as creepy or psycho, I understand the look on his face when he fights might be quite unsettling but he's just a serious and concentrated fighter. With all sincerity, I do believe he just doesn't care about anything else. He's fighting because he loves it. He's grown to be a very serious person, somewhat like a father to himself. Rory's a damn good fighter, but BJ is a legend and he didn't have to talk so disrespectful about the man. He's one of the guys that showcased what a real MMA fighter is all about before Rory even thought about training martial arts.
