Strikeforce was the pinnacle of MMA in my opinion. Great personalities in the ring, great commentators on the mic and just top notch overall. I liked it better than the UFC for sure, and even preferred it to PRIDE Fighting Championship

No it was EliteXC. EliteXC still holds all the MMA TV ratings records, and was the first MMA organization to ever get on broadcast TV which is where every company wants to be. EliteXC did not last long, but they made a huge mark on MMA.

One of those slams Overeem did was where he felt Verdums leg trapped behind Overeems knee. So he used the knee as a fulcrum and slammed Verdum hard. Verdum grabbed that knee and his leg was clearly hurt getting up. Brilliant technique and feel.

he did. he got several really good knees to the head of overeem and some good punches as well. I think Overeem went into counter fight mode to stop the takedowns, which allowed werdum to setup some good combos. Werdum's takedowns worried Overeem so much that it got into Overeem's head and reduced his ability to strike. That's my analysis anyway, because it makes no sense for Overeem, considering the caliber of striker he is, to have eaten the easy shots that Werdum sent his way.

Marches forward striking like a robot to get knocked out against Stipe but has also outstruck K1 legends like Overeem and even knocked out Hunto. Crazy career lol

I graduated high school this same day I remember this fight being a major letdown at my graduation party lol rewatching it I almost think werdum might have won ya it was sloppy but overeem was so tired and got hit a lot even in stand up which surprised me he basically won on slams and position and some hard shots but werdum even though it wasn’t pretty was relentless and even had that submission at the very end until bell rang. Close fight.
