Acer Aspire Es 14 SSD HDD Upgrade, STEP By STEP

I have this same laptop only in black and made the attempt to upgrade to an SSD as it was really slow on the start up but ran into trouble when removing the keypad ribbon - the black plastic catch broke when I removed it, even tho I was really careful. Now it won't stay attached so no keyboard function. I managed to loop a thread of dental floss around the loop where the plastic latch used to be and pull it just in order to turn it on and once its on I use an external keyboard, but now have to keep the laptop turned on all the time or go through that same procedure every time. Any thoughts on how I can make a more secure fix for the keyboard ribbon attachment?

Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: sorry that i was away for few days, if the sliding plastic corners are broken , usually it shouldn't be a problem as ling as you push the flex cable all the way in and slide the long plastic under the flex it will keep the flex in place, try pushing the flex all the way in and the plastic under , if no result i would recommend you get a .3mm o.4mm plastic sheet and cut to exact length of the flex cable and then remove the broken (old ) slider. and place the new cut plastic under and push inside so it can keep the flex cable in place. i will try to make a short video on this as soon as i get back.

@@uFixTek I tried the fix with the plastic but it didn't work, maybe the plastic was acting as an insulation or was too thick, I wasn't able to place it underneath so I went with it on top, which may have made it act like an insulation, however I was able to loop a string around the cable pulling it tight enough to at least restart the laptop with its own keyboard but as soon as I released the string it obviously came loose again as the onboard keyboard did not work when I put it all back together. Rather than do any more damage I'm using usb keyboard as a fix which does everything the onboard keyboard does, only problem is if I shut down the laptop I won't be able to turn it on again without opening it up and doing the same, so have to leave it turned on all the time and just close the lid when not in use, and keep the battery always charged as well. All I originally wanted to do was replace the hardrive with an SSD, but even that didn't work, so had to put the HDD back in it as well.

If I upgrade to ssd, will my documents and things that I save inside the laptop will be gone?

YES you will need to install windows and all the programs and your file copy into new ssd.

hey, i have the same laptop as this, i think your video is helping much. i want to try it, but i am wondering is it possible if we put hdd and sdd side by side by filling the disk part? if it possible would you consider make the video of it? thanks

It's my pleasure my friend. 🫠Regarding your question, if by filling you mean cloning?, if so i would not recommend cloning i will make a video on how to clone it, but cloning can cause a random shutdowns and performance issues. i recommend fresh install of the windows from usb drive. links in video description. I notice this kind of laptop doesn't have a removable battery. Will it be okay to clean it up and change the ssd and the ram without removing the battery like i used to do? I'm worried that I might break some of the electronic

yes all laptops have removable battery, but mostly are internal, and old models were externals. all can be removed.
