Ugandan Automotive Startup Kiira Motors Sets Its Sights on Africa - Autoline Exclusives

Starting a new automotive company is really hard. And starting one in Africa has got to be an especially daunting task. But that's exactly what Kiira has set out to do. With government backing, this Ugandan startup will start making buses to serve the country, and hopefully the continent. Trucks and passenger cars could be the next step. Paul Musasizi, the CEO of Kiira, lays out the company's plans and strategy. Andrew Watchorn, from Kettering University and a consultant to Kiira, joins the conversation.

I remember looking at an infographic at VWs headquarters, they measured sales opportunities by a country's road network size. China was their main growth market. How fast are roads being built in Africa?

After watching the entire video, I'm not surprised that you didn't watch the video. However, I wouldn't be surprised to find that their parts supply chain extends into China. That would be the smart thing to do. As far as the design goes, it seems like any help on that front came from MIT (Cambridge, MA, USA) and Kettering University (Flint, MI, USA).
