Kirby’s comments about the NCAA are spot on. There are some bowl games this year that are a complete farce because of the timing of the portal. Not fair to the two teams and the fan bases, because the games are not a true representation of the teams that played in the regular season.

The issue with the game and the current state of college football is with the lack of structure around who does what, when and how. There is no way in hell players should have the right to not play in a game and abandon their teammates. FSU was without 15-20 players who played meaningful minutes in prior game. It makes no sense how it is okay to play games 1-12 but you get to decide if you want to play in game 13. It has nothing to do with fear of injury because why play the other games if you are fearful of being hurt before the draft. Also, I don’t see how teammates can turn their backs on their brothers “FSU”.

Alabama fan here so You know. Kirby was 100% right. What a few of FSU's players did by opting out completely ruined a very prestigious bowl game. They also left their own teammates to get embarrassed on national television. Look, I understand they got left out of the playoff I get that. But these players opt outs had nothing to do with that. They didn't put their brothers on that team first. Georgia also got cheated in all of this. Their players prepared hard and came focused and ready to compete. You don't think they felt they deserved to be in the playoffs (they did)? If FSU had not had one single opt out, Georgia would have beaten them soundly. So by doing what they decided to do cost Georgia's players as well as their own. Its not just on FSU however. Players are doing this everywhere and its a damn shame to the sport that we all love. Somebody please step up and fix this!

I'm not an FSU fan to be clear but if FSU had Travis and their full squad and especially the nasty defense they did have, this would've been a tremendous matchup. So I disagree with you 💯 UGA would've beaten them soundly if FSU was healthy and had their actual team they had most of the season. Both teams had a couple of sloppy games during the season, but they both are damn good teams. It's pathetic that FSU players hit the portal in epic fashion and players opted out. I knew then, this was going to be a beat down. Fsu has a culture problem. Something is going on down there with all the guys in the last 2 years transferring out to quitting on your teammates like that. So, they were embarrassed on national TV due to it as a program. Smart is correct to say things need to be fixed. The portal to NIL with players leaving to take money and all this stuff, it's not helping the game, it's crippling the game to me. Kids love go get paid, I get that, but I don't find the current state of things as great for CFB and that's just my opinion. If I were a recruit, take notice at how FSU players quit on their coach and teammates. Look at how they DID NOT do that at UGA. Much respect to the players at UGA and the program they have built. Fsu better take GT seriously when we see them next in Ireland or they will get beaten by another GA team. Roll Tide!!

Not a fan of Georgia, but I think they are the best team in college football. It’s ridiculous they are’t in the mix for another National Championship. Alabama struggled against Auburn to the point only a miracle pass saved them. To Bama’s credit they did beat Georgia in the SEC championship, but only barely. No way Georgia should not be in the final four. Fortunately the format changes to 12 teams next year. That will go a long way towards solving problems like occurred this year.

If there was ever a way to cap off what could be considered a disappointing season this was it. Ga set the record for margin of victory against TCU last year in the national championship game. They set the new record against an FSU team that didn't care to compete! Not on Ga! All we can do is show up ready to play! FSU had a golden opportunity to throw dirt in the face of the playoff committee and instead completely confirmed their decision. FSU is NOT one of the 4 best teams in the country because they don't even have the team unity to accept the challenge. Instead, enough of their players showed complete disdain for the sanctity of college football to turn what could have been one of the best matchups of the year into a record setting margin of victory by Georgia! Don't give me your excuses about players opting out! Georgia had ZERO opt outs and only missed a couple of injured players! What a pitiful display of selfishness!!!

Great game Dawgs, I’m a Bama fan but letting you know I was glad to see ya’ll are not quitters and showed up and took care of business. FSU does not have the fighting instinct and mentality and honor of an SEC team and you guys proved that, I believe the FSU players that opted out and didn’t play knew UGA was was coming for a butt whooping. Good game Dawgs. No doubt UGA should have been in the playoffs !

When you say "I'm a Bama fan" you said it all. This game was a joke and not representative of anything. I would have included a 1 loss Georgia team to defend 2 natty's over a an improving but inconsistent Bama team regardless of the result of the SEC championship game.

Just gained a whole new level of respect for Kirby. He’s the man! First coach I ever seen admit that the outcome was affected by the other team being short handed. Every other coach says the same crap. Next man up we’re missing guys too. Yada yada. A real coach that loves what he does and loves his players.

This was probably the best team in college football this year. Alabama and Saban were able to steal the 3-peat, but if it were played 10 times, I think Georgia would win 7 of them.
@zmanzzz106 ай бұрын
You are delusional. Alabama BEAT Georgia straight up. You don't get 10 games, you get one. Alabama is better than Georgia. They proved it on the field. The best team in college football is who wins the playoffs.

I have always been a true to the end Dawg fan and we have had some great coaching talent in our house many times. But this culture and environment that Kirby Smart has created is second to none. These players that Kirby and crew take from a high school to the end of their college careers are not just great football players but have grown into men that truly appreciate the importance of “the team” aspect that will be needed for their next chapter in life. Not just in football but life. It takes great teammates to accomplish anything in life and I can safely say that these guys that leave this great university for the next chapter will be just fine. Go Dawgs

This game has really highlighted the difference in culture between FSU and UGA. The Noles can pretend like it doesn't matter. They can excuse the players who opted out. I'd probably forgive any Dawg who opted out. But none of the Dawgs did opt out. They wanted to play. Vastly different culture.

I love to see the team loyalty and commitment of Georgia players. There are a lot of players in today's football that are strictly thinking like it's a business decision whether to play in a bowl game.

A couple sloppy moments cost us winning our 30th in a row, but love the teamwork and dedication. Love finishing the season this way. To be totally honest, no one outside of our fans wanted to see a 3peat anyway, and I totally get that; and time for some other teams to get in there
