I saw an interview with her a couple of years ago. Sounds like she genuinely loved Lara and it wasn't just another modelling gig for her. Also turns out she's actually quite grounded, intelligent and perceptive -- not at all how the media painted her back then. Well, considering the character in question, there was NO *WAY* IN *HELL* they were going to even TRY to make her figure accurate to her appearance in the games! Most especially the EARLY games! Upon merely learning of the existence of such a figure at so much as the prototype stage, every femininazi and Karen around the world would have angrily let out a long, drawn out shriek so loud and shrill that even the dead would cover their ears in a vain effort to drown it out! ...................And, the company would have promptly cancelled its production to appease them. Unless they're like the companies that made that Nicee figure of Arcee or that one third party Windblade figure.......Such companies generally just turn to these people, proverbially flip them off, put on earmuffs and get back to work producing the figure that pissed them off.

That's a steaming pile of crapulence. It's like they deliberately tried to make her look as unattractive as possible. It doesn't get mentioned but this was done with the Alien franchise years ago. I have the original 18" Alien model figure that was released in 1979 and it looks like a gothic nightmare. Now the ones that are being pushed on the fans look very watered down and stray far from the look of the Giger original design. The first generation establishes it, the second generation expands upon it, and the third generation destroys it. Gen 3 is at the wheel now.

I had the original Lara Croft action figure from the PSX days and it was so beautifully sculpted and had great articulation, could pose with her guns and it looked like an accurate comic bookish representation of the character that at the time was just blocky pixels. My little sister was always taking it to play with so I let her borrow it and my Duke Nukem action figure, pretty sure she had them married.
