Corsairs Estate is literally every simmers “my first time Sims Mansion” build. Can’t believe the actual devs looked at that and thought “yeah, ok. Put it in.” Everything is so carelessly put together with absolutely no cohesion.

Not only the buildings are ugly, but this world has another big problem... If you have the Late Night expansion, literally every Sim in the town will become a celebrity and your Sim will have a hard time making friends.

I feel like Barnacle Bay was the world they used to help them transition into making Riverview while they practiced with the world building tools 😂 I own it after I caught it on sale but I've never played in it. I really don't understamd why if they named it Barnacle Bay they didn't go all out with the pirate theme. Instead it looks like a town with out of date pirate ordinances and homes trying but failing to recapture its old time glory days.

All I did in barnacle bay was rebuild the caliente house, delete their friend, and then built Deathany two mansions. Then I stopped haha

You were being generous with this world. I would sum up Barnacle Bay as “ugly, lazy, basic.” The only possible excuse is that the developers were given an arbitrary deadline that didn’t allow for anything creative.

I'm glad you've grown your following so much and are making a living from doing what you love! You're amazing! I remember when I was sooo sad my Sims 3 store content kept disappearing and then you took the time to find me the answer to fixing it and it works!!!! 😄 although I've been on this sims 4 kick...I still go back to sims 3 once in a while. I think the best way to keep the sims fresh is to switch games when you get bored. Sims 2 , 3 and 4 are completely different games even if they look the same

@Rekowcski 💯 % I love all 3 for separate reasons each 😆 Right now it's been ts4 because I have this legacy family I'm super attached to & I like being able to move them out to another town/world and still invite family over for events etc etc. I wish you could do that in ts3! Hey friend. It's Stephen from Florida. I have made a decision to build my own mansion for my own family to live in. I finished it too, by the way. It is three high with four balconies on the upper floors. A 7 car garage and a pool similar to that of Landgraab Estate with the walk that passes over the pool. But I use University Life and some Showtime EP stuff in in it. Mostly UL. I liked it so much that I saved it to my library with the family I created. So whenever I go into a new world I can put the house and family in it. I hate to say that no matter what I do, when I say I am finished. I am never finished. I do use a lot of CC as I don't have alot of EP or Stuff packs, my laptop is limited in HD space. I call it El Ranch Del Spears. No pics of it yet. But it is a work in progress as I always say.

Lets me build a bowling alley or golf driving range in my worlds too. And I do love Fast Lane as well. My laptop's HD has limited space so I have to choose what packs I use. I had to redownload Sims 3 so I put University Life and Showtime in this time.

I've been waiting for this video for so long! All the houses are super tiny - that's what I disliked the most while playing in this world. My sim was a ghost hunter and it was really hard to catch anything with two other sims in the same room: they kept on standing in each other's way

despite all the ugly ea builds in the sims 3 theres something so quirky and earnest about them i sort of love the ugliness (even the baby poo) like i never rebuilt ugly sims 3 houses like i did with all the ugly sims 4 houses also! i did want to point out that if i remember correctly this world came out around that weird time when everyone was obsessed with pirates in the late 2000s early 2010s so i think that was why they did a pirate world lol

I like it because some of the theming and houses have a New England feel to them (I'm a Connecticut native), and I think the layout is nice. Those palm trees kill me though, I wish they would've leaned more into a Northeastern vibe to give the world more identity

Barnacle Bay was one of the first worlds they made (aside from Sunset Valley of course); I'm not surprised at how basic it is. Never tried playing in this world. I think the only good thing about it was that it came with a good staircase.

I love this series so much, it inspires me to play with premades! I learn so much lore in very entertaining way, I have adhd so if I'd have to do all the research, read all the descriptions of families, inspect their houses I would get discouraged after 10 minutes. It also shows how sims 4 lacks detail, not all houses in sims 3 are great, but at least they tried, and haven't forgotten things like the infamous toilet! This is so embarassing that worlds in the sims 3 that have up to almost 30 families have better details than worlds in sims 4 that have like 5 families? Laame!

The issue I have with this world is that it is attempting the Cape Cod style of New England, but because this isn't a style with much of a definition (think how Lucky Palms was Spanish / modern, Isla Paradiso and Sunlit Tides were tropical), it has no restrictions and therefore EA does what they know best: their own style. The same issue happened with Hidden Springs, though it was a little better than this. EA needs boundaries and restrictions or else they do the bare minimum and loosely follow a generic theme.

Honestly, I like some of the ideas in "Beach Avant-Garde", but the execution is... far from perfect. I agree with you summing it up as "an inefficient mess". Could 2 sims even get past eachother if they meet in that 1-tile-wide section connectior? :( I like the idea of "Buccaneers Hut" having purpously horrible-looking furniture and poking fun of it, but it's not really helped by the fact that several other lots seem to have similar furnishing they're trying to pass off as "stylish". :/ It feels like "Fisherman's Flophouse" was made for a Childish sim, then someone else put a wrong sim in as the occupant. :S

Yes, definitely barnacle bay resemble a lot to Sunset Valley...and a little to Riverview. The houses are terrible, for some reason remember me the episode on Twinbrook (probably for the horrendous interior design of the houses)

I only review the "occupied" houses (with families living in them), since I think the empty ones (like starters) are for you to build, furnish and add to yourself. I didn't do the ITF home lot (or the World Adventures default lots) unfortunately though since no one permanently lives there
