Im liking your thinking. Why not go a little wider on the grilles? A couple more inches and they would look a little less boxy/square.

The bumper flip works great with a little nip & tuck. As for the grill opening, longer, lower, wider. Just like the advertisement introducing "The Forward Look" back in the day...👍🏁

My vote: I like the smaller openings on the front end. The flipped bumper with the proposed restyling will look better. You are moving the tank this car was to a jeep making it more sporty. On the rear I do like the slimmed down look. Ditching all the bumper guards and trimming it to fit better. Tucking both bumpers into the car profile will go a long ways to making the car look smoother. I owned a 46 Dodge sedan once as a kid. We lowered the car cleaned off most of the stainless and bumper guards and generally made it look smother. It still had the fluid drive flathead six power-plant and drove like a tank. But hey we could fit a bunch of guys in it for the Drive In. Still old Chryslers were huge boats. You've put this one on an extreme diet which is an improvement. This is shaping up to becoming quite a unique vehicle.

I hope the treatment shown at the beginning of this video is what you do. The wider openings look much better and (along with the turn signals/running lights) reduce the open area between the grill and the headlights. My grandfather had two Chrysler New Yorkers, I believe 1953 and 1959. I think the earlier car was dark green the later I know was gunmetal grey! I recall the huge fins and interior of the ‘59 and the cool clear dome over the speedometer. What an enormous beast! I think it had 392 hemi but I’m not sure. Definitely had push button transmission; probably Torqueflite?

I think it takes a good minute for people to absorb the word "soon" as you and I know soon is only a word in the dictionary helping others know of what we say. Maybe hand language has its merit's. Dad told me to shut my mouth, open my ears as how can you hear what someone is saying if your broadcasting B.S. , and for the longest time I never understood that meaning. Of course the drivers side is much cleaner and has a better look to this vehicle. Looking forwards as aways Nick for your next installment of this great build

I am not familiar with American cars of this era I like the head light bezel but personally would like to see it set back slightly, so it doesn't protrude so far forward. One of the other comments suggested to widen the grill opening a few more inches I also think that would enhance the overall look. I usually don't comment on this program but since you asked for opinions here is mine.

While I'm not a fan of the extended "catfish mouth" grill surround, I do prefer the unbroken horizontal bars of the Windsor grill over the 300 grill, same with the '61 Newport grill over the 300 grill. I think the left side grill opening is better, however I would make it a shade longer and a little narrower. On the rear, if using that bumper definitely license plate cut bottom half of the bumper. That front bumper might even look better on the back. if using the front bumper on the front I would eliminate the license plate area on the front bumper, maybe even mock up like a 1967-68 Camaro front bumper

Just subscribed, I'm REALLY interested in how you go about this. I'm lining my ducks in a row to 'modernize' my '56 Imperial (gasps of horror, clutching of pearls, etc.) I was wondering if you have just dismissed the idea of using the old Imperial grills, or even used them for comparison/set up. Definitely get rid of the bulges in the bumpers, but keep in mind how long the car is behind the rear axle.. you'll lose the low plate on a shorter transition, like a driveway. I plan on frenching it into the trunk lid.
