I'm in my 50's and I'm no longer phased by physical beauty anymore. I've met so many physically attractive women who were ugly on the inside that I didn't even acknowledge their existence once they opened their mouths. At this point in my life, I can't even be bothered to search for a needle in a haystack anymore. I find more peace and happiness loving my family than I ever would in seeking for approval from people who are not family. I keep myself attractive but it's not for anyone but myself to keep my own self esteem and keep my own head up high.

I also used to be considered what men call very attractive, but by the time I reached my 50’s I started losing some of my good looks. Also during my prime time I would get asked out a lot, but not get hardly any 2nd, or 3rd dates once they discovered that I was this deep introverted intellectual type with autistic-like character traits. Let’s face it most guys don’t look for intelligence in women, but most beauty, charm and nurturing and caregiving traits.

And beauty is subjective because one man's trash is another mans treasure. As a man I don't care how much a woman earns because her money will always be hers but she considers my money hers if we are exclusive. And women often feel like her high education is in competition with a man's but men don't focus on that as we learn different things & we don't care what women learned in school. It's irrelevant to our personal education. Men just want to be respected. Not equal. Women will never be "equal" to men because we are too biologically different to be equal. Men want peace more than anything. And that is something modern women are hard pressed to provide in 2023.

At the end of the day, I think everyone in the world just needs to learn that the way you look or your physical exterior doesn't determine what you deserve, the type of person you are, how smart you are, how much money you have, how hard you love others, or how big your heart is. This is a short life, you can't really change how you look, so just learn to love what you got. There's only one you, and nobody else looks exactly identical to you, that makes you special. If you go out feeling bad about yourself, talking down to yourself, you are going to receive that same energy back. No matter what you look like, you hold your head up high and be proud of who you are. Don't stop your life for something as shallow as looks. Find what you're passionate for and reach your full potential, don't let something this stupid stop you. As a female and someone who doesn't fit the beauty standards of facial attraction, yeah sometimes it sucks, but is that a reason for me to just shut down and wallow in my own pity for the rest of my life. NO. Yes, people who exceed or fit the beauty standards may be portrayed as the better person sometimes, and that's just the sad truth of how people judge these days. But pretty will only get them so far. You never know what anyone has gone through, or what their life has looked like. As a collective group we should aim at not just looking out the outer picture. Look at all the celebrities that don't fit the beauty standards, they got everything going for them, and people love them. Not always for what they look like, but for who they are and their hard work and skill. But dude if I'm being completely honest, you're not ugly. That has always been interesting to me. The concept of attractiveness. Do extroverts have better chances? Not necessarily, potentially yes. It is mostly about social skills and/or social circles. Even Introverts can develop social skills to communicate more fluidly and work though their insecurities to not be too nervous, that they cant talk. But guess what, extroverts get also nervous and shy around people they find attractive. I truly do believe it is a skill. For the looks, of course it is a factor. Mostly you should look "healthy" and "presentable in public", thats it.. and maybe having a certain face/skin genes or style can be a factor, but it is more of a preference, so some girls will find you extra attractive for your genetical features. Others will either dislike it (their loss) or choose to ignore it, because they realize it is not the most important thing. I have been told I look handsome, I have nice face and I am very tall. But I am skinny and have long hair, and I have been told since I was a kid, that I wasnt manly enough. This insecurity crippled my abillity to connect with the girls I liked, even if they also liked me back or at least somewhat found me attractive. But still even with the looks, I am still a virgin. Noone will be direct with you and offer to sleep with you. I felt so ashamed, that I told others that it is my spiritual choice, but thats not true, I want to experience women, but I just dont feel like putting myself out there, and lack the skills. You have to find and own yourself to be able to find the right girl. Last thing I wanted to share, something that helped me feel better about the way I look... I'm 42 y.o. woman. The title of your video captured my attention. I am told I am good looking, but it actually doesn't matter to me at all. Looks is not the key to happiness, and I know that first-hand. I was a tomboy all my life, and I always used to have many platonic male friends, to whom I was another "bro". Actually, they even used to call me "bro". LOL So I have a rather good perspective on how things work from the both sides of the fence, so to speak. And I "raised" all my "bros" to the point they found love. And that's cool. I've met MANY people in my life. I saw all the "shades" of pretty and ugly. Objectively speaking (since we don't know each other) - you definitely ARE good looking. It's a fact, not my way to improve your mood. What is ugly? Your glasses. They definitely doesn't match the shape of your face. What would "boost" your looks would be to grow some moustache and beard, of course if it's possible. I know that some guys can't grow them easily. Perfect hygiene, great scent of the perfume or cologne aaaaand you're the winner. About being introverted and shy. Introversion is preferring "quality over quantity". I am an introvert, I love interacting with people, I am a chatterbox. The real problem is shyness. I am not shy. Shyness is a direct byproduct of low self-esteem. That's something you need to change. Shyness is a very unattractive feature. It can be cute in girls, but not in men. Real women don't want a man with low self-esteem because we need someone we can rely on. If a guy cannot love, respect and protect himself, then how will he love, respect and protect me? you know what I mean. BUT! Here's the thing. Low self-esteem has two faces. One is a typical shy guy, a guy like you. The other version is "an alpha male" (read as: a terribly shallow narcissist with a huge ego,zero personality and ultra low-self esteem). Trust me, no normal woman wants an alpha male (I feel sad for the guys who are taught otherwise by some "experts") So what you need to do is: - get the glasses which match your face. let someone else pick them for you; even ask a random woman in the opticians' salon, to choose something for you, like say: "I want to look nice for my girlfriend, could you help me with picking nice glasses?"; once you say you have a gf, you won't sound like a creep; - learn to overcome shyness (maybe even consider psychotherapy); start to chat with sellers in local stores, with cashiers, postman, your weird neighbours... start it "risk free"; you'll see how it will improve your communication skills drastically! - focus not on getting girls, but on building your personality! -> read books and develop YOUR OWN preferences about books -> same about films/movies -> reduce your time online / gaming time; what you need is a real-life interactions; women hate dudes obsessed with video games. Why? because usually such dudes escape from reality into a fantasy world, in which they can be heroes; the thing is we want real-life heroes; and real-life heroes do things in real life; so you can help your elderly neighbour to carry her heavy shopping, you can visit your auntie with a bouquet of flowers - for no special reason; you can heroically try to learn something difficult - trust me, nothing is as fascinating as a guy who challenges himself; such guy may fail 395737572394 times, but the sole fact he tries and doesn't give up is impressive. Being open about how much he fails in the beginning is even more impressive. -> create platonic friendships - guys make a HUGE mistake by wanting relationship, but not wanting friendships, so they "befriend" girls hoping in despair that one day they will escape the friend-zone. Which is stupid. The vast majority of us absolutely LOVE our guy friends, but our guy friends are people with different features than our boyfriends or husbands. The think is - interact with girls with CLEAR intention; don't act like a friend, if you want a gf, and vice versa. Befriend - being honest - that you're up to friendship not relationship a few nice ladies. These ladies have sisters, cousins, neighbours, bffs.... . It's a win-win ; you have many nice friends and many opportunities to meet a gf. -> have your opinion about some specific topic, the more extraoridinary - the better; why? because if you are one of 484732637845939397 guys who loves football, computer games and whatever else, you are "one of many"; if you have some unique interests - you are unique, and that makes a person interesting; so... how about cosmology? or geology of volcanoes? Or maybe you might become an expert in all the tomato varieties? Be somehow unique. -> I could bet you lack a good, strong, healthy father figure in your life; you need an older gentleman in your life, who'd be your mentor; it can we a wise grandpa, older uncle, elderly neighbour, a priest or a pastor, and elderly psychotherapist.... an experienced man, who is a man of values, good moral code, and self-confident. Someone with good, stable family life; ask such man (men) for advice. Boys won't teach you how to be a confident man. KZbin celebrities won't teach you. Only trusted older father figures will. I don't believe there's such thing as "objective attrativeness", I think the thing about low self esteem goes both ways, I don't think lack of a father figure on it's own could create low self esteem and I know some girls that like shy guys, but otherwise this is a great and insightful comment filled with things alot of people could use if they didn't figure it out on their own, and I agree this guy is not bad looking imo. Confidence and learning to see your beauty physically and mentally is key. Platonic friendships rock in general besides getting a girlfriend. I do wonder though what constitutes in your eyes acting like you "want a girlfriend around someone" because that was kind of vauge if you could expand on it. Hi, can you give me advice then I'm 24 never had a gf. I workout 5 days a week. Have a solid skincare routine (cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen at day and cleanser + moisturizer at night) and serum every weekend. I take care of hair as well. I have a good hygiene. Everyday I use perfume. I have decent fasion sense (atleast I can do basics right). I have a well trimmed beard and moustache. Have well fitted eyeglasses as per my face (atleast I think so) From personality side, I can make people laugh (atleast smile). I earn good amount of money (compared to my age). Have a good amount of investment. I can easily live of my own money for more than 2 years without working. I have lot of successful and good friends (including females). I am ambiverted in nature. I can interact easily. I recently stopped watching porn (1 month clean) . I have a strong ambition and passion which I used to work on. I don't play video games. I try to make intentions clear early on but I get rejected everytime Now can you guide me.

As someone who is older - 60+ I can tell you that most people are lonely - so you are not in the minority We live in a world now where many if not most interact with others through electronic devices (including me at times) But building relationships takes time and effort. You are a likeable person who will have no trouble making friends if you work at it a little bit. Remember -just because a person does not have friends - that does not mean there is something wrong with them or that they are less desirable. See that you are a desirable person with good traits. Almost everyone has a desire to meet and establish relationships but most are not putting themselves out there enough to make it happen. It is a little uncomfortable I will admit, but worth it. the title of the video is the result of a low self esteem, which is a thing many, if not most introverts face throughout their lifetime. watching this video i really couldnt say that youre unattractive, however there are many things you can improve on. obviously hitting the gym is a to go things in your situation, as not only youll improve on your body shape and remove body fat, but also possibly improve on your communication skills. you also mentioned that you have nothing to offer to a girl... well, trust me, as long as you have an appealing hobby (any instrument, computer science, editing, modeling etc), thats enough to actually impress someone. if you dont currently have one then absolutely get one! there are many ways out of your situation and i wish you the best of luck getting out of it.

What I find great about gyms is that you go there more often and work harder than at home but hey thats all you. The gym community great tho, everybody is really friendly. But the fact that you work out at home is great too man. Just be consitent.
