specs look good and at 419 is a great value but in this space you pay a premium for software not hardware IMO. Syno still the photos/drive/backup/remux king.

Yeah, the Ugreen software is good for a new product. It will need more development and features to compete with everything Synology can do. Competition is good as well.

I got my DXP6800 Pro and love it so far. I had a quick question. I have a lot of family photos and music I want to make available to all users on this NAS. So I created a shared folder for music as a admin and then gave r/w rights to all users but when I login with my general user account I can't see the shared folder with all picture, I can only see my personal folder and the same with music. I there a way to create a ALL Pics and ALL Music shared folder so everyone can access pics and music via the Ugreen apps?

Not sure. I would reach out their support and ask.

I noticed that it has 10Ge connections. wouldn't that be overkill for the HDDs? (especially in RAID). I'm trying to determine if I need the Plus or regular 4 bay.

Different models have different ports. I'll be running my NAS on 10G soon, but 2.5G is probably plenty for everyone. 10G has other wiring considerations and such as well.

The kickstarter price to hardware specs is nice.

Hello! I have a question. I’m planning on ditching google photos and get myself one of these. My question is : since you can create user profiles. If two different users backup their photos, will they be stored in the same photo library ? Or will each user have their own ? For example say I have a 100 picture of a dog and my wife has 100 pictures of a cat, when I open the photos app. Will I see 200 pictures under my account ?

I believe the photos is per account so when you log into the NAS you see what's stored for you. I'd have to try that out to be 100% sure though.

@@Techthusiasm I would appreciate it a ton if you were able to text that out. It’s literally the only thing keeping me from buying one of these

What is the difference between 4800 and 4800Plus?
@Techthusiasm5 ай бұрын
The plus is slightly better internal hardware, like CPU, system drive, and such, I believe.

I bit the bullet on this one….hope it improves

Let me know what you think! Nice hardware, good base OS, and we'll see what the future holds with apps and additional updates.

@@Techthusiasm sure thing, I like the speed and may want it for media storage.

I have the old WD My Book Live NAS. There's only 1 bay. I guess you could call it a NAS. I bought it roughly 12/15yrs ago and surprisingly it still works well with the original hard drive. I mainly use it for backups of important documents,home videos,music,pictures. I can play home movies,music but regular movies it struggles. It's not really powerful enough for that. I have Plex on my Desktop PC and that's my main workhorse for Movies! Is the Ugreen powerful enough to play 4K Movies? Can Plex app be added? 🧑🏾🦲
@Techthusiasm5 ай бұрын
I'm not sure on the specs of the Ugreen with the HDMI output. The spec sheet just says 4K. There isn't a native Plex app currently offered in their app app, but I suspect you could sideload. I expect to see much more apps coming natively in time.
